speakers work with other audio devices, "humm" when plugged into desktop, but do not otherwise produce sounds...troubleshot with WXP and all audio / sound settings ok except - "no driver found" and computer does make "keystroke alarms" noise ie caps lock on / off but not through the connected speakers, though they are connected. have searched for "driver" on net w/o any luck...
can someone help here, other than "get new speakers" ?
thanks all, neurotoxic vet

If you need some help troubleshooting your sound card post its manufacturer and model number, or if its built-into your motherboard its manuf and model number.
The manufacturer and model of the PC in addition to your operating system would help as well.

Hi, what you probably need to look for is driver for your sound card which is built-in into your motherboard. Try to get the model no. of your mb and proceed to their website to download appropriate drivers. Drivers are OS specific. If your sound card in a plug-in PCI card, then you would have to check the chipset number or the sound card model no. to get the right driver. Hope this helps.
