Question about Garmin StreetPilot C330 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

Garmin C330 resets itself

My C330 will power itself off and right back on after a few minutes of use, with the power cord attached or not. It will also power itself on, without being touched when the power cord is attached. Really need a schematic for it. I have avionics gurus who can help me if I had that. Thanks, T. Brady

The first problem with it powering itself off is a battery problem. Your battery is not hold a charge.

The second problem with it powering itself on with the power cord attached is a power cord issue. The unit is suppose to automatically power itself on if a power cord is attached to it. This is Garmin way of turning the unit on when you start your car. Most auto cigarette lighter will cut power if the ignition is off, and restore power when the ignition is on.

Garmin uses this to turn the unit on and off. If the unit was being powered by the the cigarette lighter then it say unit is shutting down in 20 seconds after the power is cut.

Older-model Toshiba TV shuts off by itself

There is a large sand filled resistor on the main board close to where the power cord attaches that cracks. This will stop power until it cools enough to make the connection then heats up rapidly to open it again. It may be worth the trouble if you're handy with a soldering gun and can get the back off the TV. If not then I'd consider getting a flat screen.

Wont turn on

Unplug the power cord, wait a few minutes then plug it back in and check for a loose connection where the cord attaches to the TV. If it won't turn on after that, it's time to use the warranty.

Why would my tv cut out after a few minutes

I have had two tv's that have done that both of which ended up being the AC power box thing. Inside your tv where the ac cord attaches, there typically is a little silver box or something similar the the cord gets soddered to that either (1) the power cord has become loose and from the connections or (2) that unit itself has gone bad..

Acer netbook loses power, turns itself off

I would get the battery first. But worst case you have a bad power connection on the board that needs to be resoldered or replaced.

No power

Check your power cord very carefully....especially the plug ins (square box)....could be the power supply itself. Regarding fuses; You can't see it inside the computer it is an electronic component. Got to go to store

TV turns off

Sounds like a bad solder connection on power supply board. Remove the back, turn on the set, using the handle of a screwdriver tap the power supply board and see if it shuts down. The power board is the one attached to the power cord. If it does shut down, UNPLUG the set, remove the power supply, inspect the bottom of the board and look at all solder connections with a magnifing glass. Look for any dark rings around solder connections, and resolder with fluxed 60/40 solder. tonyfalcione@msn.com
