Question about Panasonic SC-HT940 System

Poor Surround Sound

I just got a new Panasonic Home Theater System. The rear speakers work, however their volume seems to be too low. This makes the sound just seem like it is coming from the front. How do I enhance the sound to the rear speakers to give it the theater effect? Thanks in advance for your help, Dave65

The rear surround sound speakers are not working.the front ones are and the sub woofer works fine also. everything is connected properly but have no idea what to do to make them work.can you please help

Make sure that the media you are using has the surround if you are listening to the radio then the rear speaskers will not work as the signal is not transmitted in surround...if you put a dvd in that has the dolby digital signal encoded on it then the rears should work....the rears will only work when you have the receiver in the surround mode..make sure the receiver is in the right mode...also, you may have rear speaker volume settings in the setup menu that may need to be set up..go through the manual and see if there is a setting for the rear volume...most home theater sets have this feature and it allows you to set up the system for different size rooms

Just got Panasonic Home Theater and using Digital Audio cable along with HDMI cable. Cables are coneccted and when I do a speaker test all work fine. When I play my Wii the sound is coming out the Tv not...

What kind of TV do you have?
I have found one of the easiest ways to connect surround system is to connect all your accessories (ie. Wii, Cable Box, VCR, etc) to the TV.

Next find the AUDIO OUT on the TV and connect this to the TV or AUX input on the home theater.

Tune the Home theater to the Input that you connected the TV to. This should play the audio through the home theater for any input you tune the TV to.

Note: make sure to turn the TV volume all the way down otherwise there will be some distortion due to the delay between the TV and the home theater.

Good Luck,

Just bought a Philips home theatre system HTS3544 low sound?

You may also need to change the speaker set up. Go to DISC setting (one of the top selections on the remote) make sure you have no Disc in the DVD player. When in this mode press setup on the remote. On this menu you will have a option to adjust the speaker volume.

I had to increase my speaker volumes to get better sound. This setting is not accessible if you try to do the set up in other than DISC setting. Be sure to check the SURROUND setting. The SURROUND button on the remote will toggle between stereo and surround as stated in a previous post.

Can't get the surround sound to play the rear speakers and small front speaker

Sounds like it's just in 2 channel stereo mode, only 2 speakers working out of 5 and a sub, look for a selector switch for switching to 5.1 surround, as far as the no video problem try replacing the cable for the video connection.
