The door has a cam that has to be adjusted to force the pin up

call a local glass company and ask them where the adjustment is located

there is usually some type of access plat near the bottom of the door frame close to the hingee on the inside close to the bottom

The bolt on deadbolt doesn't go all the way in

if it is new the lock could be installed wrong, most latches have a 60mm and 70mm option and when lock install wholes are not right, it trys to self adjust to half way between, measure from centre of big whole to edge of door, also take complete lock off and test with door open, turn lock with screw driver, hope this helps

Kwikset door lock jams inside and out.

Is sounds like the door settled or shifted and jammed the bolt in the jamb. I would put a pry under the door and gently lift while turning the key. That is only for the up and down but could be that the door needs to be pushed in or pulled out while turning the key. If you want to get real crazy just pop it off the hinges and investigate. If the lock still does not work with it free from the jamb then you will just have to replace the lock.

Hi, W/D here.

Easy fix. Your upper locking bar has slipped. While someone is holding the door handle in the open position, you'll need to push the upper lock bolt back far enough to get the door open. You can slide it back carefully with a screwdriver or knife, a little at a time, while holding slight tension on the door with the handle. OK, door's open. Remove the inner door lock cover plate. The lever and locking knob will come off with it. Remove the mortise cover plate, on the edge of the door. Insert a small, thin bladed into the upper alignment slot in the lock behind the mortise cover plate, and loosen the upper allen screw behind the inside lock cover plate. Use the screwdriver to engage a slot in the locking bar, and raise or lower the bar until you have it level with the alignment slot. Tighten the allen screw.
Sometimes, the bar is so far out of alignment that you will have to gain access to the other end of the bar, in order to raise or lower it. This is done by removing the plastic cover on top of the door, and using needle nosed pliers to move the bar.
This should fix you up.

Best regards, --W/D--

Hi. Your lock smith can replace any lock set for you. Since the keys were stolen I would definitely change the locks and do it asap, or find some other way to lock the doors. Once again your local locksmith can advise you. J.

I have a briton 2004 door closer, is there anyway I can adjust it, at present it is very diffcult/heavey to open the door.

There should be 2 screws behind a cover at one end of box play with these which adjusts resistance only make small adjustments at a time as it will suddenly open and close easily and fast.
