Go for format ahead after that its very easy to change the drive letters as you wish.
click run type "diskmgmt.msc select the partition u want to change Right click and change drive letter and path. If you want to change your drive letter lets say "D" and is being used by another, change that drives letter first,so you will get the letter "D" free.

I have a dell opticplex gx620. It was working perfectly until the windows crashed. I have been trying to reload windows xp but once i press f8 to accept it will show blue screen.

You need an actual Dell windows disk to reload to a new hard drive as it will flash the associated drivers and boot sequence to the RAM. Nothing else works with DELL!

XPS-410 needs to have MCE 2005 Rollup two SP3 replaced by Windows 7 64 bit. Too many problems to list currently but will work limited programs

Not sure what you are trying to do. If you are trying to convert 32 bit to 64 bit Apps, try going to manufacturers website to look for drivers.
Win 7 will actually find the best drivers for your devices.

1. You may have a virus and it has corrupted the Boot sector of the OS (Operating system) Windows that is
2. this may be that you will have to format the hard drive and reload Windows
3. the third thing may be that your hard drive is failing and needs replacement.

Connection to wireless internet is excellent but no browsers open

You may have a corrupt/deleted file and want to Restore/Reload your windows. The windows program is usually stored/hidden on the harddrive in another directory. Easiest way is to use Control Panel and something like System Maint to reload the Windows. Drawback is that the system will be the same as when first removed from the box, and you'll have to reload any programs, printers and such. If you have any files you want to save, you should back it up on an external source. Then go back and reload and reconfigure your computer.

Dell dimension 5150 ethernet problem reloaded windows xp home from a windows xp entertainment os. apear fine but not receiving.

Okay, so it seems you installed Microsoft Windows XP Home on a what was Media Center Edition installation, and the ethernet is no longer worker.
Please refer to dell.com's support section, enter your model, and download drivers that you need.
To find drivers you need, Go to start --> control panel and then go to (under classic view) system --> the hardware section, open up device manager, and then look for ones with a yellow big question mark, and get those drivers from dell's website. Burn these drivers to a CD on another computer, or use a USB flash drive if that does work.
Good luck.

Emachine T1100 Emachine window then no system window

It sounds like the hard drive has been wiped or is dead or not connected. Check the power and control cables to the hard drive. Check drive with a maintenance diskette or CD. Replace drive if bad. If wiped or replaced, you need to re-install an operating system, such as MS Windows-XP, or Ubuntu (a free, downloadable, Debian GNU/Linux based operating system with a Windows-like user interface).

Windows won't start due to file being missing or corrupt \windows\system32\config\system

That's usually the first signs of a hard drive failure

Try restarting it, until you can get it to go, and then pull off any needed data.
Replace the drive, reload everything.
