Question about Epson Stylus CX6400 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I replaced the black cartridge and closed the lid. There was a griding sound so I opened the lid. I had not pressed the black cartridge down until it snapped. Closed the lid again. Another horrible sound. Opened the lid. The cartridges moeved away from the right side about 3-4 inches and I know I am not supposed to force them back. I am getting a message, "Refer to your documentation or call service if needed." What do I do? Did I break my printer when I replaced the cartridge?
Before you throw it check to see if it wil reset. Unplug printer and disconnect from pc for about 15 mins, check all cartridges are fitted properly, then follow these instructions, if same fault then printer damage has occured. Go to add/remove programmes and uninstall printer software and drivers. Go to printer and faxes folder or go through control panel and ensure the epson printer is deleted, if not right click and delete. Re-start pc and install drivers from your printers cd rom and re connect printer when prompted and not before (if no prompt when software finishes connect printer). Your pc should then idenitify your printer and auto install drivers. See if it re aligns print heads.
