Black toner does not print properly....

I'm having problems printing with the Samsung CLX 2160N, the quality is low and some of the text is grey and not black. Does anyone know what can be causing this problem and how I can fix it?

Thanks

the cartridge is new and it's an original!

    Hi,

I've the same problem with the original cartridge (the one that was in when I bought the printer) with 35% remaining black toner.
I tried also to remove the cartridge, shake it and place it again in the device... This was not a solution.

I have the same problem with black colour (other colours are OK). I bought the printer in December 2007 and got problems in April 2008. After that the drum was replaced under warranty. However now (November 2008) is got the same problems back. The printer shows that the black toner is filled for 75% or so.

I have the same problem identical to what is described by the other posters - is the soft cloth solution a real fix?

i bought this printer 3 weeks ago, it worked fine the 1st time i printed, but now, the black ink is faded on the left side of the page. Like I have time to waste with printers again.

The black does not print properly. About one third of the page, from top to bottom nnot be read clearly. I have put in a new black printer cartridge and wiped the green roller iside the machine and its still just as bad.

Hi,

I solved my problem taking some soft stuff (i.e. absorbing paper) to wipe the green film of the imaging unit.

I have no scientific explanation, but it's back to normal quality.

Cheers

Samsung clx 3185 printing is all faded, colors and black

When you go to print, your printer driver should have quality options. Make sure you're not using "economy" or "draft" mode. Try "quality" mode.

Hi, I have had my CLX-2160 printer for 3 years now and its started to print with a fade on the left side only and have just under half black ink left. Is it worth changing the black toner cartridge or does...

Hello.
There are two reasons the fade happens. Running out of toner and the drum not responding correctly. The Drum is the unit that transfers the toner to the paper. if it gets damaged or dirty inconsistent print is usually the result. Try taking the toner out, shaking it and replacing it to see if it affects the print quality. if it does not price a replacement drum and toner, compare it to the price of a new printer and this will answer the second part of your question!!!
I hope this helps Regards GM

I have a samsung clx-3160fn printer. All toners are ok, espcecially the black one - BUT when I print black&white doc, it is comign out really faded - as if the black toner is low. BUT it is not!! ...

Go to printer properties and check whether you have selected print in grey mode and also check whether you have selected the economic mode. Rectify the same will solve your problem.

Printing problem

Is it clean? Most ink jet printers have a simple user procedure for cleaning the print heads. You may have to clean them periodically or after the printer has been idle for a few days or weeks. If you see funny colors or print-outs are missing colors, a cartridge may be empty or a head dirty. You may have to clean a head many times to get it working again.

I have a CLX-2160N and there is a blue smudge

Have you tried a new cyan toner? Make sure you are using genuine Samsung toners and drums. Check the blue toner and drum for defects or wear.
