I have removed Bandoo Media now but how do I remove or stop ask.com appearing as my search engine when I open Internet Explorer?

Which version of IE are you using? In IE 10, click on the Gear symbol on the right of the URL line (or Tools in the Menu bar if open), select the Manage Add-ons option. If these are hidden, press Alt+T to access the Menu bar and Tools. Under the Search Providers, you can change the default search provider. You can also remove Ask.com from that list. Also check under Toolbars and disable the Ask toolbar if it is present.

If your homepage has been changed, go to Internet Options under the Gear. In the General tab, reset your homepage.

I believe these steps worked in IE8 and 9. I'm not sure about the older versions of IE.

If the settings change again, you may have some sort of rootkit or other malware present. Try Malwarebyte Anti-malware to remove the problem.

I hope this helps.
