My Garmin GDB 50 MSN Receiver/Car Charger lost the piece on the tip to connect it to the cigarette lighter. Can I purchase the replacement part?

You can buy a complete charger by going to https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=8526
Click on "FIND A STORE" and select your country.

A cheaper option would be to go to a car accessory shop and buy a plug for cigarette lighter accessories. Take it apart and use the tip out of it.

I received my motonav TN765 on 5/10/2011 and the battery runs down after 3 minutes when it is connected to my car charger. The system shuts down during this time. What should I do?pp

I found that my motonav will not charge with the car charger, I looked and looked but could not find a replacement for the cradle that was not charging so I took the cradle apart and found out that the hole were you put the car charger in has a little peace of metal that needed to touch the outside of the of the car charger when you put the plug in the hole on the cradle.

If my garmin is out of charge, how do recharge it from the computer?

I own a Garmin also, it can be charged two ways first through your computer and second through a adapter that plugs into your cigarette lighter in your vehicle. The USB connector you need is available through Garmin but they are kind of pricey and so is the cigarette adapter for your car. I usually buy these items on Ebay they are much cheaper on there.

I hope this helps you out if it does please leave me some feedback.

@yahoo.comgarmin 750 charges through usb port but not through car charger/cradle?

Check the fuse in the charger plug. The plug that goes into the cigarette lighter socket has a ring up near the end of it. To open it you unscrew the ring. You'll find the fuse inside and it probably needs replacing. Otherwise it may be the cigarette lighter that's not providing power.

Need an instruction manual for a Century 10 amp battery charger

Are you having this problem on a particular battery? Try using it on your car's battery with the headlights on. The headlights should brighten and the unit show 5 -10 amps charging.
A car battery can develop a problem where the battery post gets disconnected from the inside. This is common on batteries in storage or left on charge a long time or used in a car with a defective alternator. The battery is charged but it won't start a car. headlights connected look normal until you turn the key, then the headlights will just go out. This descibes a bad battery.

The charger/traffic receiver glows green but it does not charge the unit. How can i test whether the fault is a, the charger, b the cradle or c, the unit

hi,

1st of all let me say im on my 3 cradle now for my 760 because the connection inside the cradle where it mounts to the board is pretty poor.

since you said the traffic/charger has the green light lite, that means the charging part of it is working.

you can verify if its the cradle or the connection on the bottom of the gps where the cradle mounts by using the usb cable supplied with your garmin.

plug it in for a while, then check the battery meter after you unplug it..if its charging, the meter would have risen beyond what it was before you tried to charge it. the same can be done with a regular garmin charger (the one that uses the usb connection for the car charger to charge it)

My Garmin will not start up.

it sounds like your battery within the GPS Unit is died. You need to charge it somehow. Keep it connected to the car charger for around 30 mins and unit should turn on. Do not keep it on while it is being charged

Garmin car charger

There are thee ways to charge the Garmin 750, 1: thru a car cord that plugs into the base that your unit mounts on. 2. Thru an AC charger. 3: thru the USB port on the Garmin unit itself. In your case the car cord plugs into the base that mounts your unit to the window. If that is not working, check that you are getting power from your car receptical. Check by plugging your Phone in or buying an adapter at Radio Shack that checks it. Also check the plug that goes into your car recepticle. Your manual tells how to check the fuse that is located in the end of the plug. If neither of these work your mount connection is bad. Hope this helps
