Scart leads are available just about anywhere try your local Tesco or Asda but dont by the very cheap ones as this will degrade your picture.

How to Connect VCR directly to the TV without problemd

The VCR is today old technology that doesn't marry well with the latest tv sets and accessories. The best way is to connect via a scart lead.

There have been so few digital vcr's produced few households have them - most are analogue format and must either record from a set-top box, from some tv sets while watching the programme, from a dvd or dvr or anything with a scart socket...
Mostly the in-built uhf modulator is redundant and generally the machines are now only suitable for playback of previously recorded tapes, though I still find them useful for recording.

Sound

Are all the 3 cable plugs inserted properly (yellow, white, red) or is it a scart lead? You may need to buy a new scart lead ( or 3 wired scart cables) as there could be a problem with the links or just the wires themselves

Can't connect to the TV. How do I do this?

In the UK (and some other countries) you will need a SCART to SCART cable. Simply plug it into appropriate sockets on rear of TV & DVD player.
Elsewhere you will need a 3 plug RCA (phono) cable. Plug into colour coded sockets on both sets.
Use TV remote 'mode' button to switch from TV antenna signal source to RGB or other source as appropriate

How do I connect a JVC DVD video player model XV-S302SL to a cable box and a TV

There are several ways in which you can do this.

The first way. If your cable box has two scarts one will be label as tv and the other vcr or something similar. connect your Dvd player via scart to the vcr scart on the back of your cable box. then connect a scart from the cable box to the back of the TV.
That would be you all sorted. when you turn your DVD player on this should override your cable and display the dvd screen.

Second way. If your cable box has not got two scart ports on the back of it. Then you would have to connect both to the back of your TV. If there are not two scart ports at the back of your TV then you can purchase a scart lead splitter. I would imagine the Cheapest you could find would be on Ebay or something similar.

Hope this Helped Clarify things for you.
If this has then please leave a thumbs up

Get picture but no sound

If you gettting Picture but no sound this is Normally down to a scart lead not connected correctly.

Please try pushing the scart lead in fully on the back of your Dvd player also check the back of your Tv as well. This should sort the sound problem out for you.

If for any reason this does not work then please try another scart cable incase the one you have connected now is faulty.

Hope this helps you out. If so then please leave a Thumbs up

New dvd player

Check your TV setup, especially scart socket/AV menu. It is possible your scart menu is on av priority.

Watching digital tv using a Panasonic DMR-EZ47VEB

PLEASE NOTE THIS INFORMATION COVERS PROBLEMS FOR ALL DEVICES CONNECTED UP BY STUPID scart LEADS. I HOPE IT HELPS EVERYONE.

This is a common problem, the problem is caused by the fact your device is connected to the TV via a scart lead. The way it works is this: If you press the AV button on your TV remote your TV will turn over to the first scart channel. If you actively do something on the device connected via scart in this case the dvd player, (this includes things like playing a DVD or Video, or going into a menu), the device sends a signal down pin 8 of the scart lead and turns the TV over automatically to the AV channel, BUT as soon as you come out of the menu or stop the DVD/Video the signal stops and the TV will revert back to the channel it was on.
So you have 3 choices......maybe 4...
1. press the AV button on your TV remote directly.
2. Buy yourself and HDMI lead IF your TV supports it (note: you will have to select the HDMI channel on your TV remote because the auto thing is only on scart leads).
3. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVE A SPARE LEAD look up a diagram of a scart lead on Google so you can find pin 8 and cut it out with a pair of wire cutters. YOU will have to still press the AV button on your TV remote to go to the channel though,
4. Connect your TV and DVD with an aerial lead and tune channel 6 on your TV into the DVD player. ps then disconnect the scart lead.
(Go for choice number one!)
