Question about Ovens

1 Answer

The screws holding the grill element to the roof of my Electrolux oven have come out. They can be removed in order to clean the roof of the oven. According to the manual, it is easy to screw these back in place after cleaning I am unable to locate anything to screw the grill back in place. Presumably there is aplate of some kind inside the roof of the oven. If so ,how do I access it? Many thanks in anticipation. Mike

Possibly held with self tapping scerws, and hole has enlarged, all you will see are 2 small holes if this is the case, then use larger screws..
If this helps, please leave positive feedback. Thanks

Hello,
This would appear to be the ring element around the fan that has failed and will need to be replaced. You will need to power off unit, then remove the back panel inside oven 4 screws in corners,Be careful with Thermostat held in place by clips above or on back panel. You may find 3 or 4 screws holding ring element.Gently pull towards you, being careful that the cables come with it.Check element with multimeter to see if open circuit if its ok then it may be a thermostat fault. If it is a faulty element,

get your replacement element, remove the cables off old one and put onto new one. Then push back into place and refix all.

Hope this helps.

Can I change the grill element myself? I assumed it just plugged in at the rear and have removed the two screws holding element to top of oven. Now I wonder if the steel plate at the back is itself bolted...

The grill element is not usually a 'plug-in' device.

You will have to remove the back of the oven/grill and disconnect it from the back before you can withdraw it from the front.

Remember to switch off the power before removing the back.

Neff U1421W2GB/02 Double Oven Grill problem

There are a couple of solutions to this prob,
You can get some plastic metal and build up the corroded area after cleaning it first, then you can drill a new fixing hole for screw.
The other thing you can do is to cut a small metal plate to fit over bad area, drill and fix it to oven liner, again drill a new fixing hole for element to be secured.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Hi there,

Not sure that I can help but will certainly try. You need to check to see if the power is getting to the oven. As the grill, light and fan are working it seems that it is. With the Oven not heating up I would suggest that it is possibly the Oven Element. Usually to check these you need to remove the cover inside the oven and also the back cover. You will probably find the power is getting to the element but the element is not working and needs replacing. Before removing it MAKE SURE YOU TURN OFF THE POWER TO THE OVEN. Should only be 2 or 3 wires going to the element which will need to be removed before removal. Usually only a couple of screws hold the element in and once removed you may have to wiggle the element a little to get it out. Replacement is just a reversal of the removal procedure. I had to replace the one in our oven 2 weeks ago as we had the same problem. It is fine now and was only the element. Just MAKE SURE you TURN OFF THE POWER before removing the element. Hope this helps.

regards
Bryan

i solved the problem by replacing element . new one cost 23 euro from electrolux spare parts dealer .1 undo 4 screws of plate inside the bottom oven . [ plate has holes in a circle patern in the middle of it ] . 2 gentle remove plate and expose the element .3 element has 3 srews .undo these and gentle take away from ovens backwall wall this will expose 2 wires that are connected to the element .3 very gentle unclip the wires from element . {grip the clips not the wires } connect new element and replace all screws and outer plate . this worked for me ....... remember to turn off the power to the oven before you go at it .
