I have an error message in my iRiver and unable to use it anymore. The error message I'm getting is: Boot Failure System file has an error. To solve the problem, connect the device to compute

If it is an older model like H10, it used a a micro hard drive which may have failed mechanically. Those old hard drive devices were susceptible to shock failure due to drops. In some cases you may be able to replace the failed hard drive with a compact flash card - I believe they used the same connectors and pin outs. If it is not a hard drive model, can you get it recognized by windows drive manager to try to reformat it. There's a linux based program G-Part Ed. It's an ISO file, burn to cd or put on USB and boot pc to the cd or usb to launch linux and the software then see if it will recognize and format it as an external drive. Gibson research used to make spin rite that was able to fix some hard drive problems, might work on flash memory too.

My ipod is not connecting to my system

Hi,you can use your iPod to a Windows and Mac, in conjunction with a USB port. Any iPod with dock connector, which has one, can be plugged into a USB 2.0 port. For a system to transmit data and provide access to information on your iPod, it is important that the system initially, we should recognize as a real device. But if your system is not, then the probability that the internal structure of the iPod is corrupted and you need to reformat. After formatting, if you have deleted the backup to restore the data youYou must use iPod Data Recovery Tools.

For example, if you connect your iPod to your Windows-based system with a USB port, you can the following error message:

If the problem persists, please format your iPod and lost data from backup. But sometimes, when the backup is not complete and updated is valid, backup should be restored. Message says FAT corrupted

FAT stands for File Allocation Table.  It is basically the table of contents like a book would have.  It tells whatever device is using it where the information is stored on the memory.  If there is nothing on it that you absolutely need saved, I would connect it to a computer and format the card.

Cant format mp4 philips sa312455

i can solve your problem..its an easy way.since you have specified that your computer doesnt recognise it, you have to generate the system file. you can do this by either record a voice and save the file in your device. then connect your device to your computer. it will detect it and you can format and upgrade . the only thing is somehow you have to record the voice in your device.

Screen says that it has a booting error! cannot download music.

you should have been provided with a cd with a software for upgrading your device.format your device using windows, (remember dont use quick format) and then install the software from the cd.connect the device and then try to upgrade it. if your system notifies that it isnt able to upgrade or if it says system file error, generate the system file by recording a voice and saving it.then connect it to the pc and upgrade. hope your problem is tackled.have a nice day

Ui data

It means that the boot data has been corrupted. The only way to fix it is to reinstall the firmware, if you can find it. Now, Goodmans don't have the firmware (boot routines) on their site, nor do they have any other support for the GPDR40 (FYI, 'Logik' and 'Ventura' MP3 players also suffer from the same problems, with fixes hard to find) I have seen major problems with nearly all USB devices, in my opinion caused by cheap chipsets and shoddy hard/software in even the most expensive of devices. I believe this is known as 'built in redundancy' or 'built in failure'. If someone has a working unit, open it up, connect the HDD to another PC as a slave, then copy all files and directories (except the media) to another formatted HDD. in the cases of Logik and Ventura devices, the limited boot ROM will tend to reinstall the uncorrupted OS files automatically, resulting in a working player again. PLEASE, someone, copy some working files or find a firmware update. I have FOUR dead GPDR40's, and I'm an electronics engineer... Alternatively, check for support from the manufacturers before you buy anything. I would bet anything that these companies have NOTHING to do with the design or manufacture of these units, only the branding licenses, hence no support. Scumbags.

Mustek pvr-h140

Hi,

Are you trying to restore the files you previously had on your Mustek or just trying to get it to work as it did before the format? If you're just trying to get it to load, follow these instructions:

"Install the PVR Console software in the bundled CD and connect the device to PC. The software will help to restore system data and boot up files to the device automatically. When the copying is done, restart the device for twice."

If you're trying to restore the data you accidentally formatted, connect it to your PC and try using a program such as Free Undelete to restore the files that were previously deleted. In the program, you need to browse to the drive that your Mustek shows up as on your PC (so if the drive is X: you need to restore files on X in the program).

H10 System Files Missing

Sounds like a failing drive. From My Computer, right click on the drive and do a format before reinstalling the software on it. Choose full format, not quick. You WILL lose all your data that you had on it.
