Screen Resolution stuck at 640 by 480

My HP vs17 screen resolution is stuck at 640 by 480. I've tried to change it back to 1280 by 1024 pixels, but when i apply the changes, it reverts to the original 640 by 480 setting.

Please help!

You first install the audio drivers if the problem persists then attach AGP card then increase resolution and pc will ask question do you want to keep these settings say yes then you can see 1280x1024

Everything is blury have to set screen resolution to 800by600 pixels to try too make any thing out.

Connect the monitor to a laptop -- is it still blurry?
If so, then the monitor is the problem.
If not, then your computer (the video-card?) is the problem.

How do I get my screen to fit my monitor properly on my computer?

Two ways to change your "screen settings":

1. Right-click one time on an empty area of your desktop.
2. Select "Properties" from the drop-down menu.
3. Click on the "Settings tab" along the top.
4. Move the "Screen resolution" pointer to the left or right along the bar, depending on which way you need it.
5. To test it, choose "800 by 600 pixels" to the far left.
6. Click [OK].
7. Your screen will temporarily change. If you like the setting, accept the setting.
8. If your screen "goes away" ... not to worry ... It will return to the way it was in a few seconds if you don't select anything.

Hope this helps!

Viewsonic monitor

Pixel Ratio is just a parameter Measured to Produce Good Quality Display with Fine details so Do not Mix up with Resolution and Pixel ratio.

Use the Resolution that best sutes the Application you use(which may change with time to time based on applications you use)
Keep a standard Resolution 1024 x768,or which ever suits your Vision.
NViiDiA is a Grafix card and Monitor features are 2 differnt thigs so.
Dont be concerned about the Parameters and get mixed up.
just find the best possible Resolution and enjoy your Monitor with best Quality, :)

Screen goes dim under different user

could be an issue of his resolution and refresh rate settings are close to being out of range for the monitor. Try lowering these settings to get better performance.
