I don't know if it work for everybody, but, I took out three of the batteries, then unplugged the radio and plugged it back in. That just left the bottom light blinking, I then pressed the power button on and back off. I had to reset time and date, but it got rid of the flashing lights.

I had the same problem...I removed the clock from the power source and took out all the batteries. I then put them all back in and plugged it back up. The lights stopped flashing! I did have to reprogram the date and time but all the county codes and defeated siren preferences were saved! Definately worth it.

SOURCE: Emerson Smartset Clock Radio setting for everyday alarm

You will need to reset the Clock/Radio's microprocessor. To do this you must unplug the Clock/Radio and remove the internal battery (CR2430). Let the Clock/Radio set without any power source for at least 2 hours. Then put the internal battery back in the Clock/Radio and plug it in to the a/c outlet. Test to see if the Clock/Radio functions have returned to normal. If the function have not returned to normal, you will need to replace the internal battery. Then let the Clock/Radio again set with out power for a period of at least 2 hours. after a 2 hour period, put the new battery in the Clock/Radio and Plug it into the a/c outlet. Test the functions to see if the microprocessor has reset to normal operation. If you are still having a problem with the Clock/Radio's operations , you will have to give the Emerson customer support a call. The Telephone number for the Customer support is 1-800-898-9020. You can call them between the hours of 7am-5pm CT. Give them the make and model number of your Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance with your problem. I hope this information helps you fix the problem with the alarm in the Clock/Radio.

My Midland WR100 weather radio is set for any S.A.M.E. code. I live in Oklahoma. We have tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings, and my radio has not sounded. If i press the weather/snooze...

I have been used this Midland weather radio with S.A.M.E alert for last 2 years. My device works perfectly. My radio has sounded whether any tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings. After reading your post you have to face some problems with your device, that during tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings your radio not sounded. If you follow some steps then your issue will be resolved. Carefully review the manual. Or, it is possible that the NWS did not issue a warning for the storm. Warnings are issued for thunderstorms. If a storm is not expected to produce severe weather, a warning with an alert is not issued.

The Weather Alert

You may have programmed the wrong county code...check out http://www.weather.gov/nwr/indexnw.htm#sametable and double check the code you have in your clock. If you have the correct code programmed, double check your "defeat siren" preferences...although it looks like you have already checked that.
