Maybe press and holding the key Fn and pressing the last right down key on the keyboard, the arrow indicating to the righ hand, the monitor will see more brillant.
This problem is associated with the LCD back light, it is either faulty (LCD) or the LCD connectors are not making proper connection with the motherboard.
I suggest you pull apart your laptop and reconnect the LCD connectors to see if it fixes your problem. Then you can decide to get it repaired (it won't be cheap) or just connect your laptop to an external monitor, which means you are desk bound.
Or buy a new or second hand laptop.
