Sharp updated the procedure for resetting the E1 code.
1. unplug unit 2. hold the Power button while plugging the unit back in 3. keep holding the Power button until the unit beeps 4. unplug unit again 5. plug it back in and it should be good
these a couple things you can try to reset,if resetting dont work you will have a amp problem.Try pushing and holding down these 3 buttons s.speaker b and att and exit buttons for at least 3 sec or more.should reset. If not also try pushing and holding down mult speaker and exit and att buttons together for at least 3 or more seconds.if still shuts down you will have shorted transistors inside of unit.
hELLO THERE:
First off i would check the power cord to see if the fuse is bad and check the fuse in the car too
if all good than press and hold in the reset button for 2 minutes to let it fully reset it'self. and if this still does not work i would have the unit inspected by a authorized shop to see if the internal fuse has went out ok? i hope that these solutions have helped you out.
please dont forget to rate these solutions that i have provided cause it helps me so i can continue to help you too>

Try resetting the unit. Make sure there is no disc in the unit. With the unit on, go to the front panel and look for the STOP (square) button. Hold it down until the unit shuts off by itself. Turn it back on it shoudl work fine.
I reinitialized the Unit 2488MK2to the factory settings.Simultaneouly hold down the Quick Routing,Shift, Send and Shut Down buttons with all the buttons pressed------- turn the 2488MK2 on. the first 3 buttons you can do with one hand the shut down button wich is close to the on & off swich with the other hand the Trick is hold the buttons down until the dispay shows unit is factory recett shut off your 2488MK.
Make sure you have good amount of room around the back of the unit. It sounds like you may have an overheating problem. If that isn't it, you have a bad ground or +.
Its usually not a fault that you will see unless somethings burnt up. This is solid state electronics and you dont see this stuff go bad. But in the meantime try disconnecting the speakers and see if it still goes into shutdown and at the same time have a dc multimeter attached to the speaker outputs. If the unit comes on and you dont see any DC at all or very very little B+ on both speaker terminal sets then you may have a defective speaker. If you do see dc then thats why the protections comming on so you dont blow out your speakers. If you dont have any equipment or dont have any electronics experience I would then take the unit to a repair person for an estimate. Good Luck
