you could do a google for each term and learn about them..look at this

anyway most of that info is for people who are deeply into hardware etc

i would worry about the total physical memory which is the amount of RAM installed..i can see that you have 256MB

you can upgrade the RAM which will result in better performance..

You need to repair your system using the back-up software (CD) of the operating system that is currently on your PC e.g. Windows Xp. Suppose your system can not be repaired then you need to format your system meaning you lose ALL you information and start loading using your back-up CDs. Note you need a proper AntVirus to overcome semilar situation occuring.

The very first thing we do is to solve your problem about the start-up error. For your information, your operating system was corrupt that is why there is prompt error message appear in the windows start-up. The best thing here to do is to start your computer in safe mode and this can be done by pressing F8 key until a operating system menu will appear. Select Safemode and wait until you get into the User Account Login screen. Enter to your account and then restore your computer to an earlier time. Go to All Programs - Accesories - System Tools - and then select System Restore.
But if this procedure failed, the only last thing should be done is to reinstall your computer operating system. Leave comments for further assistants. okay..

Load ed cw get all ok but requires a sound card

Go to your Start menu, click on all Programs, Select Accessories, then System Tools, then click on System Information. A window will open titled 'System Information'. In the System Summary section, make a note of the System Manufacturer and the model number and report it back to us, along with the processor and the total physical memory.
Now open the Components menu by clicking on the plus sign next to the word, and select the Sound Device window by clicking on the words "Sound Device" Report back what appears in the window at the right when you do this, and we'll take it from there.
