The error code 2000-032 (LCD Inverter error, unable to turn lamp ON/OFF) sounds like your LCD screen has a problem and needs to be replaced. The inverter circuit is located on a small circuit board on the LCD display panel. You can try reseating the LCD connector and see if this helps. Here’s a link to the service manual: http://supportapj.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins6400/en/sm/display.htm#wp1022270

I have purchased acer laptop when i am powering on to my laptop it showing media test faluir check cable and then showing error 22 please suggest me what should i do

Error code 22 usually points to a device that has not been enabled, media failure cable check is where the OS is looking for a boot drive such as a CD rom or hard drive boot record.

In order, try the following
1.) Remove any DVDs and usb devices from the laptop and try to reboot
2.) Under the laptop, there is an inspection hatch for the hard drive, remove and check if there is actually a hard drive installed, make sure it is firmly connected
3.) On boot up, access the Bios (might be F1 or Del or F10) and see if the DVD rom drive and the hard drive are listed in the bios and are set in the Boot order.
4.) If all the above check out, try inserting a Windows installation disc and see if the computer will try to boot from that (dont install windows, just go through the stages untiol it "finds" the drive, see if there is already an OS on the drive
5.) If there is not an OS on the drive, install windows, see if it works ok.

If the above do not work, please repost along with any other codes

The screen goes very dark within a minute after booting up = I can just barely see the menu page

When you say screen goes very dark when it booted to windows so it means that when you turned on the laptop when the dell logo flashes the screen was fine? if thats the case could you please try this. after turning on the laptop you will see the dell logo flashes immediately keep tapping on F2 and then it will show you the BIOS setup utility, please check if in BIOS setup display goes dark as well. If yes then try this, after turning on the computer when dell logo flashes keep tapping on F12 to boot menu then select utility partition to run the diagnostics. Please run test on the LCD check if display goes black when running the LCD test. Then try this when you sees the dell logo keep tapping on F8 to boot in safe mode check if in safe mode display goes very dark. Try this too, boot in F8 then select last known good configuration check if the settings on your display will be fix. If you can boot to safe mode no problem then uninstall the display or video driver. then restart computer.
You can also try to connect an external monitor if you have one just try to isolate if issue is on the LCD or the video card. If the display is dark as well in external monitor then video card needs to be reseated if fails then replaced. In situation like this most video cards is integrated to the motherboards. So replace motherboard.

Display problem with colors

Check the display on the external monitor. if the display if fine, you lcd needs to be replaced. if the display is the same, your computer mother board has gone bad.
here is what you can also try before calling Dell.

Turn off your computer.
now, press and hold the Fn button at the bottom left hand corner. and then turn on the computer. kepp holding the Fn key down untill you see Pre boot self assesment. it will check all the hardware problems in the computer. After 2 minutes it will show you a rainbow. if the colors are fine press Y else press N. it will give you an error code. call dell and give the error code and get the LCD repalced.

Lcd on dell inspiron 1501 wont start up (dark) no pictures

Give it sufficient time to dry, then try again.

Also, you may actually need to send it back to Dell - and I wish you luck with that, because Dell's service is known for being the worst in the business.

No display lights

Run the PSA Diagnostics and Obtain the PSA Error Code

To run the PSA diagnostics and obtain the PSA error code, perform the following steps:
Shutdown the computer.

Press and hold the <Fn> key, then press and release the power button.
Release the <Fn> key when the lock lights above the keyboard begin to flash or Diagnostic boot selected is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen.

Release the <Fn> key.
The PSA diagnostics sequence begins.
After approximately 2 minutes the system produces a number of alert tones.
After the alert tones, the system produces either a series of low beeps or error codes.

Note:
PSA diagnostics will prompt for input during some tests. The resulting error message does not necessarily indicate hardware failure.
For example, input is required during the color bar test. Failure to input a response will eventually result in a timeout error: 1000-0333 Graphics test timed out waiting for keyboard response. This does not indicate a graphics failure has occurred.

Note the sequence of beeps or error codes.

Initialize LCD BIST Diagnostics

You can initialize the LCD Built-in Self Test (BIST) in two ways, depending on the revision of Pre-boot System Assessment (PSA) diagnostics:
PSA versions 3019 and greater run LCD BIST immediately after failing the color bar test, via user input of <N> or waiting for it to time out prior to generating the 3-3-3 or 3-3-4 error. PSA version 3019 became available in November 2005 on various Dell laptops. The PSA version is upgraded with the BIOS.

With older versions of PSA diagnostics prior to November 2005, LCD BIST runs after responding with a <Y> after receiving a 3-3-3 or 3-3-4 error code.
To initiate the LCD BIST on PSA versions 3019 and greater:
Boot to the PSA Diagnostics.
Watch the screen and listen for the color bar test prompt tones emitted by the PSA Diagnostics. If the screen is visible, one will see the PSA diagnostics draw a series of multi-colored bars across the screen. When completed, a prompt asking if the pattern was seen appears, accompanied by a brief series of tones.
Press <N> or wait approximately 30 seconds to fail the color bar test.
Watch for the LCD BIST color generation and listen for the beeps every 2 seconds that indicate LCD BIST is running.
LCD BIST runs for approximately 20 seconds, then stops. The 3-3-3 or 3-3-4 error code is then displayed when the LCD BIST is complete. If LCD BIST does not initialize, then the system may not have been upgraded to PSA version 3019.
To initiate LCD BIST on systems with PSA versions prior to 3019:
Boot to the PSA Diagnostics.
Watch the screen and listen for the color bar test prompt tones emitted by the PSA Diagnostics.
Press <N> or wait approximately 30 seconds to fail the color bar test.
The system emits a 3-3-3 or 3-3-4 PSA error after failing the color bar test. Wait for two iterations of the failure code and then press <Y>.
Note:
On a working LCD, the PSA diagnostics shows the following message:
Error Detected, continue testing? Yes or No or Retry.

Watch for the BIST color generation and listen for the single beeps that indicate LCD BIST is running.
Patterns of flashing color should appear on the screen. With every color change, an audible beep is heard. If the patterns of color do not appear, and the beeps are audible, an LCD failure may be the issue. If the patterns of color appear, a video card or motherboard failure may be the issue.
IF AN ERROR IS INDICATED, PLEASE CALL DELL SO YOU CAN SEND SYSTEM TO SERVICE DEPOT FOR REPAIR (WE'VE JUST TRIED TO ISOLATE ISSUE TO SEE IF ERROR IS CAUSED BY HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE, OR JUST SOME CONFIGURATIONS)

Thanks and Goood luck! =)

Dark Grey Vertical Bar

1. try connecting laptop to an external monitor and check if this vertical dark gray bar appears. if yes it means video is the problem. you need to boot in safe mode then uninstall the video driver. boot to notmal mode then download and install the latest video driver. if still same problem then replace video card. if video is built in with motherboard you need to replace motherboard.

2. when the vertical dark gray bar did not appear in the external monitor then it means issue is with the LCD panel. Do this turn off laptop. press and hold D key then press Power button at the same time or Press and hold on the Fn key then Power button check if the test will run. Color displays full screen when you keep pressing on N key when the colors appears check the vertical dark gray bar if still exist in the test, this means LCD panel and LCD cable needs to be replaced.
