Question about Canon Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

I have a Canon Pixma MP170, and when I turn it on, it goes through setup and goes straight to an alarm. The screen flashes "check printer" and "5100". My computer pops up and tells me to turn off printer and turn it back on. I can't get any "menu" buttons to work to clear alarm or reset printer.

5100 Is a garrige lift error. The best would be to take it to where you got it and have it striped and repaired.Ther is a sensor on the right hand side inside the machine that needs to be looked at!

Pixma MP170 all in one printer error on led screen ''check printer 6500'' alarm light and power light flashing.

Light blinking 20 times or Error Code [6500] = Hardware Error.
You will need to replace the QM2-3210-000 LOGIC BOARD ASSY.
But it's not worth to do the repair job.
Suggest you consider to purchase a new machine.
Thank you.
