" I cannot change the desktop background except to...
Uhh, except to... what?

We really need more info here, if you want a solution to your problem.

How are you going about it?

I have the same model, not that it makes much difference in
this case. To add a new image, you need to go into your Control
Panel, then double-click on Desktop, then on Browse.

From there you find the photo you want and upload it, so
it will show on your Desktop.

Since you didn't tell us how you are going about trying to
upload photos to your Desktop, I can only assume you
have tried everything except this, which I know works.

If you have tried this and it STILL doesn't work, then
perhaps you have loaded someting that is creating a
software conflict. So you might ask yourself just "what"
have you uploaded previous to this problem. And then
possibly uninstall it to see if anything improves.

Background

Hi Adrien, the easiest way to set a picture as a Windows background is to open the picture in your web browser and right click on it. A menu box should appear, about half way down you should see an option labeled *Set as Background*. Left click on that option and Windows will automatically use that picture as you background image and tile it to fill your entire desktop. Alternatively if you have Windows XP and use the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer program to display the picture the process is the same except when you right click on the picture the selection will be *Set as Desktop Background*. When you select that option it will do the same thing. If you don?t like the tiled effect right click on the desktop and select properties from the popup menu. In the display properties box that appears click on the Desktop tab, and in the lower right hand corner you will see a field labeled *Position*. Left click on the pull down arrow and select center or stretch, depending on what effect you want. Let us know if you need any other help and don?t forget to rate the posting.
