I had the same problem but was fortunate to solve it in a much simpler and cheaper way - try this first!!
There is a small red slider switch on the back panel of the computer, which is also the back panel of the power supply, near the 110 V power inlet. The small red slider switch is for 110V or 220V. If it is not solidly seated in the 110V position, this problem (no bootup, flashing green lights etc) will occur. I suspect my switch jiggled out of place just by jostling the computer over time. Anyway, Just slide the switch back completely into the correct position and voila! Problem solved. If that does not work then proceed to replacing power supply etc.

If you are sure that the 110 volt power is coming into the computer then the most likely problem is that th epower supply died. Obtain a new one of the same or larger wattagge as the one you are replacing . It does nto have to come from the manufacture of the computer.

Compaq Presario SR2150NX doesn't turn on. Front panel green light turns on but nothing else happens (no fans, no boot, no noise, nothing) Please advice

On the back of the Power Supply there should be a Green LED, When you power it on if it is flashing, this means that the Power Supply is dead and you need to replace it.

When pluged into outlet fans spins and doesnt stop, wont boot

Fan spinning hard is usually a CPU issue.
If you've made any hardware changes to your computer, undo them. This happened to me when I was trying to upgrade my Processor (CPU) and I had the wrong kind.

powersource is good.motherboard might be the problem.harddrive can be tested by putting it in
another computer and see if it boot up.to test the mother board unhook the cd drives and harddrive.turn
on the computer and see if the gateway logo comes on.if it still does the the samething with everything unhooked
then it might be the bios.you might have to flash the bios and reinstall it.to do this i recommend you take it to a
shop.if the comp runs with everything still unpluged and stops then you know that you have a wrong
setting on the harddrive or cd drive.if you got two of anything make sure that you have a slave or master.if you nned me to

HP/Compaq has had alot of power supply issues with this series of computers. Do you have another power supply you can try in this system? If the light is flashing rapidly, it is usually a power supply. Fairly cheap and easy to replace.

Pover up trouble

sounds like something is drawing down on your 12 volt supply drives or on board regulators. Try it without the drives connectged, and see if you can get the system to boot up(you'll just get a notice that your drives are unavailable, but you'll already know that, right?

got backup for your Dell?

4600C no power, flashing amber light

FLASHING AMBER LIGHT FIX. This maybe in fact a motherboard issue, but actually its a bit more. You can and should replace the power supply with a more powerfull one as it will help overall, but the issue is Really the front USB ports and 2 issues concerning them, 1 some devices pluged into them have boot sequences of their own, (remember your boot seq goesfrom,USB,CD,ARRAY)etc.
So if the device isnt design with its own OS, the mis-boot will get stuck Hence the Flashing light. and 2. the front USB ports dont supply alot of power upon bootup. and the devices pluged into them will again cause a mis-boot. Simply unplug everything from the FRONT usb ports. You may have to shut the computer off and unplug the machine for about *15* minutes.
Enough to get the motherboard to downpower completely.
with the front usb ports clear, and the power cord unpluged, hold down the power button and plug in the machine. should boot no problem. So to sum things up. The motherboard is fine, it just not happy with so many usb ports (power wise). A larger power supply is a good idea but wont entirly fix the issue, Unplug front usb devices as they may have some form of bootup.

Power Green Light Flashing HP Desk Top PC m7250n

During a power outage their is a surge when power come back on the grid (surge can be caused by lighting strikes akso). This surge trips the internal procters inside the power supply to protect the Mother Board, hard drive, processor and fans and any device that pulls wattage from the power supply. Since all these power using devices are trying to pull power at the same time to boot the computer back up one ends up with a loop of surge thrugh the power supply with a protective trip, reset, surge again and trip again. This will continue in this loop as the computer is trying to boot all the devices at one time (Mobo, Hd, processor, cooling fans and other devices). Simoly, more power wattage is being demanded than the protectors will allow at one time causing a protective shutdown followed by a restart followe by a protective shutdown in a continious loop.
The normall sequence for a boot is to boot the board, processor and fans followed by a boot of the hard drive, and other boot devices once the board is energised, NOT all devices at the same time, as this results in an overload and trips the protectors. This protective loop is indicated by the blinking light as the power is turned on and then shut down for protection as the wattage pull is over the demand that the protectors will allow.
Blinking light indictes you are in the protective loop.
SOLUTION: 1. Disconnect the Mother Board connector, with the computer unplugged, this will allow the power supply to reset at maximum wattage upon reboot.
2. Disconnect the Hard Drive power connector and ay boot device power supply cables, this will allow the Mother Board, processors and fans to boot without an overload of the protector inside the power supply.
3. Plug in the computer and the indicator light will be solid green indicating that it is reset and out of the loop.
4. With the computer pluged in and the Power Supply fully energised, plug in the Mother Board. The computer will now boot, and the processor fan will come on and the cooling fans.
5. After computer has rebooted, shut the computer back down and connect the Hard Drive power cable and any other power cablis that were unplugged.
6. Reboot with all cables connected and you are up and running again.

POWER SUPPLIES HAVE AN INDICATOR LIGHT FOR A REASON.
REMBER - BLINKING LIGHT IS AN OVERLOAD OF THE PROTECTORS AND ELLIMINATING THE OVERLOAD SOLVES THE PROBLEM AND THAT THE POWER SUPPLY IS WORKING AND CONVERTING POWER.
NO LIGHT MEANS NO POWER OUTPUT AND THAT INDICATES THE POWER SUPPLY IS NOT FUNCTIONING AND NEEDS REPLACED.

Hope this helps everone with power outages and lightining strikes. It is a rather common problem and can also occure when building a computer and one missmatches the power supply with the board wattage needs. If the board wattage needs are greater than the power supply output you will get stuck in a potective loop eventually. WHEN BUILDING A COMPUTER ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE POWER SUPPLY CAN PRODUCE MORE WATTAGE THAN YOU CAN CONSUME AT THE MAXAMUM LOAD.
Have a great computing experiense.
