Question about Quantum ATL P7000 (p7-0/679-nds) LTO 2 Tape Drive
I've added 4 more drives to our P7000 + 1 FC470, to support them. I've made sure the termination is in place (termination LED is on on each drive).
However, once I power up the ATL, the drives don't stay powered on and the neither the ATL or the FC470 can't "See" any of them. I've logged on the the FC470 and tried to discover devices but nothing is there.
Does anything else need to be done on the ATL side?

SOURCE: I have a Quantum ATL
SYMMPI is usually found to be an on-board SCSI controller. The ADPU160M is one flavor of driver for Adaptec SCSI controllers. So, a failure on one controller and success on another is not unusual. These type of errors are not specific to SYMMPI1, but more an issue between controllers and the attached tape hardware. Microsoft has a KB article that references the most common errors seen: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=154690 As stated in the KB, these errors CAN be driver related. But, if you've replaced or upgraded drivers, and are still seeing these errors, it's unlikely to be a driver problem.
