Problem with ATT cordless phone set (3 phones)

I recently purchased (last 6 months) the ATT 5.8 digital phone withanswering machine. Yesterday, one of the phones stopped workingand on the screen says, "connecting."

I took the battery out unplugged the phone and after overnight, I hooked it back up and still not working.

Today, a 2nd phone is not working and has the same message, "connecting," How do I fix this? Thanks, jeannie
Have the same problem. I had phones for year or so. One day two headsets stopped working with "connecting..." message. The one that stayed on the main base - worked, untill i decided it must be something with batteries and swap battery from the good headset to one of those that do not work. As a result I got all of them "connecting..." and none of them does connect really. When I placed the headsets back to the chargers they say "charging", then sometimes "connecting", then sometimes nothing, then when I took them out from the charger - "place to charger". I agree with one of the previuos complain - i do not think it is about the battery. It looks to me that the main base lost (erased) info about the connection to the headsets and does not attempt to do so.

Same problem. My at&t cordless also says "connecting" and then "charging." When I disconnected the phones for 3 days, I recharged them and they worked fine, but only after a few hours of use they did the same thing again.

Yes, I've had the exact same problem. Had phones for a year and then, DONE! Seems like the base is to blame because everything stopped all at once. Still no resolution, and I'll just toss and get new phones.

I have same problem, I bought this phone 6 month ago.

You will need to re-pair your phone with the earpiece. The best option is to contact your local cellular rep and get them to assist or go to the store where you purchased the earpiece.

Try powercycling the basephone and remove the battery from the cordless phone, wait for 10 sec and then reconnect the battery, after that connect the power to base phone, probably it will fix the issue.if your phone have the option to change the channel, try changing the channel to 11 or 6.try and get it fixed.

Model28112 series cordless phone multi phones 4 total

This does not sound good. If you have one working phone and you have swapped batteries around and still the same single phone works.... you know it's not the base unit, charger stands, power supplies or batteries. You have eliminated everything but the phone itself. Unfortunatley these low end cordless phones cannot be expected to last. 6 months is pretty bad but I'm not surprized. These sell for $30 each new and I bet a replacement battery is $20.

Cordless phones will not connect to base.

I just had the same problem and tried several things with no results. Then, I figured I had tried everything else so I just unplugged the battery pack, set the phone down for 25 minutes and then plugged the pack back in. Phone worked again after that.
