It could probably cause by overheating, your cpu cooling system might be clogged up by dust thats why windows huts down the system prematurely, send this computer to a shop asap
cheers

How do iuse my intergratred web cam for my hp pavillion dv9000

using a web camera is very simple even though it can be complicated sometimes.

you may be seeing a driver installed for ur web camera, in the device manager. But u need an application to run ur camera.

Dont worry i've been through the same problem i'll definately help u fixin it.

Follow the Links below & do as per instructed...

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=1842189&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en

Select ur operating system & direct urself

Consider if u selected Windows XP,
then go for
HP 1.3 MegaPixel (MP) Webcam Software Drivers
and download it..

Consider if u go fir Windows Vista,
then go for
HP Webcam Driver with Firmware Upgrade for Microsoft Windows Vista
and download it..

it has to work for definate as i solved my own problem this way..

If this works, please rate me, i really need some good ratings...
if its not working, anyhow, feel free to ask..

Thanks !!!

I have a DV9000 whos screen goes black immed after power up

try to press F8 continuously before the microsoft image until you get different options. select "Safe Mode" on the options using your UP or DOWN cursor keys then hit ENTER. if it works and boots up then you can use the windows operating system disc to repair it. if it still does the same thing then you might need to reformat and reinstall the windows vista operating system...

Wrong bios

The # 443694-001 refers to the cd set. You need to know which DV9000 you have. On this link you will see all the DV9000 models.:
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=DV9000+443694-001&submit.x=6&submit.y=4

You will need to use a friend's computer for the following.

Once you find the correct firmware, You can make a bootable CD by using Nero or Roxio burning software, these are the most common on computers nowaday.Once you make the bootable CD, you will have to set your laptop to boot from the CDROM. Then boot the CD you made and run the firmware update.
I don't believe you would be able to get a USB flash drive to boot in this condition.
Good Luck
You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
