Did you put oil in the fuel? was it run before with out oil..remove the exhaust and look in the port to see it there is any scoring on the piston. large lines runing down the piston is bin time, small lines going around the piston is OK. Usualy if it was running then stopped and cant pull over, the engine is siezed from low, incorect type (marine) or no oil in fuel.... Some time you can be lucky like a customer this week He was filling it straight out of the pump, I put some oil in the port and rocked the engine over, It still had compression and got it to fire up. how long it will last who knows...

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:

You will need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner.Make sure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to see daylight through it.)

Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.

If you need further assistance on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement

Just let me know.

I have a poulan leaf blower that will not start.it sat for 2 years started once for about a minute

get a new plug and then check for spark. a spark checker is a better choice...and since I would be more inclined to believe you're not getting any fuel replace the carb and fuel lines. it's a waist of time trying anything else. just because you have fuel in the primer DOES NOT mean gas is getting to the engine. If you DO NOT have spark, but you have fuel, your spark plug WILL be fuel fouled (soaked with fuel)

I have a Poulan Pro BVM200 blower that will not run. I've cleaned the carb, changed the plug, and added new gas. It will fire up with starting fluid and die within two seconds. I tightened the head and...

turn the needles all the way down to where they just stop dont tighten to tight just when they stop then back them out 1 full turn and see it should start then adjust from there if no start or runs wildly then a carb kit is needed

Chaged gas and spark plug. Get no combustion

Make sure your getting a spark at the plug. Not much to these machines but verify good spark before anything else.

Make sure the line is connected to the fuel cap if it has a pump ball.

Runs fine &then suddenly stops

IN the tank there is a intake tube on the bottem of that tube is a tiny filter. you can reach in and pull it out the tank enough to work on it.
It is clogged pull it off let it dry for a day and then blow it clean fron the gas line side OUT.

or echo sells tune up kits for 10 bucks at home depot. -Jeff Anchorage Small Engine.
