How do I get rid f a firewall? - Computers & Internet

Go to start menu then run type in MSCONFIG then go to startup items. Disable the on screen application for the firewall but not the firewall itself it should stop posting the application on the screen shot. Do not delete just disable startup item. I would also disable anything else that is annoying you a well. It will not hurt your computer. Thanks for using FixYa! John

If the firewall is enabled in either your computer or in the others computer, the other people gets the BLACK screen..

To get rid of it..Disable the Firewall...

To disable..
Navigate to START->ControlPanel->Windows Firewall
and turn it off.

Now it should work..

if you look in start - settings - control panel you will find an icon named windows firewall
This is part of windows
If you double click on it you will see 3 tabs. Important for you is tab called exceptions. There you will find yahoo . If you check it no more firewall message wil shown when accessing yahoo.

Be sure if you have router too there is another firewall.

take and get rid of it ,and try to install it again. i had ca and I had lots of problems,so I installed a differant one.

just go to control panel> add or remove programs> and click on any programs connecting with the name linksys and then click remove to uninstall it.that will remove all the components for linksys from your computer including the one for the start bar.

you have a virus do a full virus scan to get rid of them if no luck with that try windows defender and all should be restored.

Use a firewall program (like Windows Firewall, Defender or ZoneAlarm.)

Get firefox and Sygate Personal Firewall. Disable the builtin windows firewall and the BITS service.

To solve your problem perform the steps given below:

goto Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall >
General tab - Make sure the firewall is switched on and "Don't allow exceptions" is unchecked. > Exceptions tab - Find the Firefox/Thunderbird/Mozilla Suite entry and delete it.> Check the box next to "Display a notification when Windows Firewall blocks a program".> Click "OK" to exit the Windows Firewall window.


for cookies error perform these steps:

Open Tools -> Options -> Privacy and make sure "Accept cookies from sites" is checked and that the site you're trying to access isn't listed under "Exceptions".

hi i had same problem and it was an update to CA firewall that caused it get rid of that and go back to windows firewall worked for me, but difficult get Ca firewall uninstalled  hope it helps
