Just fixed this problem. I did this;1. turn off water to machine and undo intake hose (top right at the back)2. take top off machine
3. Remove intake filter by removing screws and wires ( be careful of any wiring in machines as some holds a charge even when unplugged)
4. Remove soap tray compartment (be careful of pipe coming out of the bottom)
5. Clean all parts removed do not get electric transistors wet!!! make sure all lime scale is removed
6. Look at filter if badly damaged or dirty seek advice as mine was not I didn't need to worry
7. Put back together in reverse order!!

Hope this helps anybody like me scratching heads and scouring forums

SOURCE: Indesit WIXL 143 washing machine noise

there maybe a coin or something stuck between the two drums, when the machine spins fast it lifts the item up, unplug the appliance and remove the botton drum hose to see if you can get it out.

Flashing lights

There is a Light Flashing on my Indesit Washing Machine

Many of our newer Indesit Washing Machines have a series of indicator lights, which flash to indicate a possible fault on your installation or simply to let you know a problem occurred whilst you were away from your Indesit Washing Machine.

Pre wash light flashing
Indicates a failure of your Indesit Washing Machine to fill correctly. Check your fill hoses for a blockage, a leak, a kink or to make sure that they are turned on.

Wash light flashing
Indicates that your programme dial has been moved from its original position. Simply returning the wash dial to its original position will restore the light to its original status.

Spin light flashing
Indicates that the Indesit Washing Machine has considered the wash load to be excessively un-balanced. Open up the door of the Indesit Washing Machine, re-distribute the garments and retry the spin to resolve this.

End light flashing
Indicates that the Indesit Washing Machine has reached the end of a wash programme.

Wash, rinse and spin lights all lit at the same time would indicate a possible blockage in your under sink wastes system. Check out the additional informationin our 'My Indesit Washing Machine Will Not Empty'

Hi, we have an Indesit WIXL 143(UK)washing machine. Both the stain remove and easy iron lights flash together about twice per second and the door lock light flashes faster on doing any wash. Is this a...

This probably happens after the main wash has completed and it is just finishing the first rinse. It seems to be a warning that there is a partial blockage on the waste outflow. Empty the wash and use the DRAIN program to get as much water out as possible. From the FRONT of the machine open the lower flap and and then put a large towel on the floor. Unscrew the big black filter cover slowly - some water will come out -about a cupful. Ensuring the machine is turned off, use a cloth to remove any obvious build up of "gunk". Would suggest using an old toothbrush to clean off the surface and the plug.

You may have a blockage in your waste pipe. (If using an extension check any coupling has not "bunged up".
Last, check your waste pipe / grey water connection. Again, this "should" be fine, but it may be bunged up, especially if it feeds into the sink outflow.
Stick back together, plug in and use the 11, fast wash option in cold. Should now be happy, and you should hear water gurgling away noisily down the waste.
Always worth doing a 2 - 90 extra hot wash once in a while even EMPTY of washing just to "flush the system" now and again.
Hope this helps and saves you a £104 service engineer call from indesit :)

Door jammed

take the top off the machine, put your hand down to the reigon of the door lock and by using a small screw driver the catch on the door can be forced open without doing any damage.
