If it's showing skipped, you may have to go in and adjust the backup settings again. Go into the settings feature and make sure you have the directories and folders you want backed up selected. If you are leaving certain files and folders unchecked the log file is basically telling you that you have chosen to skip areas of your hard drive to backup. If what you want is showing as "backed up' then there is no problem and it's telling you what it did per your selection.

In Windows Explorer go to tools, folder options, select view tab and unhide system and file folders, should backup fine and not skip now that they are unhidden.

Most backup utilities will skip files that have not changed since your last backup. Why rewrite it? It just saves time.

Skipped stitches

Skipped stitches could result from several different origins. First, easiest, and least expensive thing, try a brand new needle. However, if it is failing to pick up the bobbin thread all together, then it is probably out of time (search for sewing machine timing or take it for service).

Here are other suggestions for intermittent skipping:

Slant o matic 401g skipping stitches what is wrong

Make sure you are using a brand new needle. A damaged needle will frequently cause skipped stitches. (Changing the needle is the least expensive repair for machine problems!!!!)

I get a backup, but with a lot of error messages

Microsoft has some hidden directory levels and files in VISTA and in XP that are visible only when the settings for the directories in which they exist are changed from the hidden setting.  It's tedious, but possible.  I assume, then, that what you were unable to copy to your backup are these hidden files.  They're placed that way as a default in the Windows install to protect the user from accidental "mistakes". Example:  Under "users", {name},AppData,Local,...

Skipped stitches

You will need to take your machine to a dealer and have it adjusted. Machines should be cleaned and serviced at least once a year. Needles should be replaced when dull. Skipping stitches can also be from using the wrong kind of needle. When quilting on cotton, use sharp needles, when sewing on knits use a ball needle. You can use a universal needle but they aren't perfect and will cause skipping on some fabrics.
