Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies

Open Question

Canon CanoScan 3000F won't scan film negatives. It gives me this error: Cannot Scan for these reasons: - The original may not be set correctly. - The Film Adaptor Unit Protective Sheet may be put in place. - The lamp may not be warmed up. Scanner driver will be closed. Code: 2,181,0 TWAIN data transfer error. I've never scanned film negatives with this scanner before, but it scans regular photos fine.

SOURCE: Producing Negative film

The 4g wil not be the solution for you.  It is just a basic graphics printer.  The filmmaker 4 will be the option you should look at.  It will produce negs and positives all the way up to 2400 dpi.

SOURCE: I have a CanoScan FB121ou

You can probably contact Cannon and see what they get for the power supply or search the WEB for an aftermarket ps. You will need the specs off of the old one if you go after market.

How to scan negatives?

You will need to check your Canon software that came with your Pixma MX310. I have a stand alone Canon Canoscan 8800F scanner that have the capability to scan 35mm film strip and 35mm mounted slide, the software included the feature for it.

Can HP psc 1410 PRINTER SCAN NEGATIVE AND SLIDES

Chances are that somewhere in your family photo collections you have a bunch of slides and negatives that you wish you could do more with. You may want to include them in your family history, to publish them on the Web, or simply to make digital copies so you can share them with the family.

If you've ever tried to scan a negative or slide on a regular flatbed scanner, you'll know that it doesn't work, and you end up with a pure black scan. In this article we'll show you how you get your negatives and slides into digital format, and what issues you may face along the way.

pixblue.gif Benefits Of Scanning Film

There are some key benefits to scanning film (we'll use the term to include slides and negatives) in comparison to scanning a photo. When you scan film, you can use the full area of the slide or negative, whereas a photo will generally only display a cropped portion of the original. You are also scanning the original source image rather than the color corrected and tweaked version of it that the photo processor has provided you with. The process of turning a negative image into a positive one involves inverting the colors in the image and removing the orange cast from the negative. This would be a complicated process if you were doing it by hand; however, your scanner will provide you with software to do this automatically, or you can purchase standalone software to do it.

Most cheaper flatbed scanners are designed to scan photos and other images that reflect light when it is shone onto them. The problem is that film is transparent and light passes through it rather than being reflected off it. Many flatbed scanners have an optional transparency adapter, which replaces the scanner lid with a larger box shaped ob....

How do you scan 120 negs?

The MP600 cannot scan film or slides. Film/slide scanners need a light source to shine through the film to the scanner sensor. You can use a flat bed scanner with a light source such as the CanoScan 5600F, or a multifunction unit equipped with a backlight source such as the Canon PIXMA MP810, MP970 or MP980.

Scanner is scanning everything in with inverted colours, is this a setting somewhere in the ToolBox It was working but I think one of the settings may have been changed. Thanks

It seems that the Source is improperly set in the ScanGear software interface. From the ScanGear screen (where you Preview and Scan your documents/film), click on the tab labeled 'Advanced Mode' at the top. Under 'Input Settings', in the box next to 'Select Source', choose the type of film you are scanning (usually Color Negative Film if you are scanning 35mm negatives).

Why is my canoscan 44oof scanning in negative mode i.e white paper with black print is scanning black with white print

I solved this problem by the following:

Don't scan from the Canoscan toolbar. Use an imaging program (I used Picasa), import from the Canoscan, and Scangear opens up. In the settings for Scangear, you can choose positive or negative film (use positive for slides). You can keep using Scangear, or after using it once, you'll see it has corrected the problem with the toolbar

The problem went away for me, when I reset the error message on my MP830. In this case, the message was that I was out of ink. Not a problem for scanning, yet this gave me the "lamp" message. Reset the message by pressing the "OK" button.
