Question about Radio Shack 433575 Cordless Phone
I have a Radio Shack 5.8 GHZ cordless phone. It automaticallly starts recording, constantly, when I am in the middle of a phone call. I do not push the soft key nor do I even accidentally hit a record button. This is very annoying as it beeps during my business calls while it is recording. Do you know what might be wrong with it? I can turn off the recording feature during the call but I have to hold the phone away from my ear and hit the soft key to stop the recording which means i can't hear the other party while I am performing this! Is it just a faulty phone? It did not do this when it was brand new (purchased it 4 months ago) but the 90 day warranty has expired and it does it all the time now!
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Hello, I had the same problem with my line I called the phone company 2 times they checked the line on their side at the base and was unable to fix it, they also sent me new filters but that did not help either, they had to physically come out to my house to find out what the problem was. They checked my phone that was new and that was not the problem, they changed the box in my house and still the static and scratchy noise was still there, after 3 days they ended up replacing all the wiring from (outside my house) becuse it was way way old, now my line is clear as a bell. This may be your problem but you may have to sacrifice a few days. Good luck I hope this helps.

It most likely is that the batteries are about shot. One thing you can try is unplug the phone base for about 5 minutes. When you plug it back in,you may have to set all the handsets back on the base for a few seconds to re-synch them again. If that doesn't work,it's probably the batteries.Since 5.8 gHz is fairly recent, you can probably find replacements.Make sure they have the same exact rating if you do.Mine is 3.6V,650 mAh.That is just an example of what you specifically want to match, both numbers. The brand isn't as important as the numbers. They are also likely to be Ni-MH.It means nickel metal hydrade. Most current batteries are probably that anyways but just something else to watch for. Also, buy as many as you need but first try only one to see if it fixes it.Surprisingly,3 years for these phone batteries is about all they last.Just from knowing that makes me question how effective the electric cars will really be.If you end up replacing your phones,DECT is the new technology but from what I have seen isn't all that. They seem more hype than good according to problems I have seen. Some of the better ones are AT&T,Panasonic,GE,perhaps Motorola and Verizon though. We are waiting for a good sale on them though or to buy an older model.I have not read anything about Radio Shack brand as far as problems if they have one.If you need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink to your post and reply ASAP.

Hit the up or down arrow keys several times. (either key will work) and the ringer will rotate through Ringer off - Ringer low - Ringer high... one set will be a steady ring, the other set will be a warble ring. This works on the phone made for RadioShack with 5.8 GHz on the front and Cat. No. 43-155 under the battery in the battery compartment.

SOURCE: When I call my mom's
There is a small electric condenser microphone in you mother's phone where she talks, and the part has become defective. Radio Shack use to carry three types, but whether they are still available is anyone's guess. If you are handy with a soldering iron all the better because if you find one, the phone will be given extended life, I have fixed dozens with good success.
