Jukebox - 1959 Wurlitzer Jukebox Not working

I took out 3 chassis: an amplifier, a power supply and a switching mechanism.  I purchased the necessary caps and replaced most all of the capacitors.  When I plugged it all back in the power supply and the switching mechanism did not work properly.  The rectifier tube and the transformer on the power supply do not get hot but there is still power going to the switching mechanism.  Meanwhile the amp seems to be working.(the tubes are all glowing) Please help.

try to find any diagram from a website.. then print it and give it to your amp tech. so he could Identify what are the wrong, what the first guy did to your amp and its better to buy a whole new tubes. I know your amp tech is very good. I'm just a noob about tubes yet I want to know how this works. hoping for the best for your amp tube.

SOURCE: replace florescent tubes in Wurlitzer

The column tubes can be replaced by turning them 90 degrees using the small black tabs on the end. They then slide out sideways. The top tubes are twist and pull also but hard to get to. One end goes forwards the other pulls backwards. Removal of the yellow plastic light diffuser is often required. It slides out in a spiral motion.

SOURCE: Puchased A Yamaha DSP-A1092 Amp from Auction turns off

I doubt it. Sounds like it is going into protection due to bad output transistors or some such. Time for a trip to the repair shop it sounds like.

SOURCE: Wurlitzer OMT CD Jukebox

It's a blown fuse on the amp.
You have to undo the cover plate at the top and then flex it to unhook the bottom. Once it is off you'll see the fuses.

IM TRYING TO COVERT MY WURLITZER 1015 OMT CD JUKEBOX TO PLAY MY IPOD WHAT DO I NEED TO GET.

To make the jukebox automatically switch between jukebox CDs and the IPOD source, you'll need the background music adaptor. I have these in stock, but need to know which amplifier is in your machine, as different amplifier types require different BGM units. Please email tech@wurlitzer-ohio.com

I am moving house and will be moving my wurlitzer OMT, do I need to secure any mechanisms down in order to move it safely ??

Hello qsteven,

With any jukebox no matter what manufacturer, it needs to be locked down to stop the mechanism from being damaged. This is usually done by some form of tie-down bolts on Rowe Ami two bolts hold down the frame other manufacturers do it slightly different.
It is a good policy to make sure that all the circuit boards and amplifier and power supply are secured to the cabinet.
If I move jukeboxes I also tape across the doors to stop them opening during transit to prvent any damage.

Flashing 8 on display

Hello,

A flashing 8 on the display indicates that the Selection and Credit Computer hasn't detected the gripper arm has returned to it's normal rest position over the CD carrier (where the CDs are stored). It can be caused by several factors:

1. Gripper motor switch has been turned off
2. K7 microswitch or actuator is defective
3. Blown fuse in amplifier
4. Defective gripper motor
5. Open latch solenoid coil
6. Defective Selection and Credit Computer

I am the authorized Wurlitzer Jukebox repair center for the US and would be happy to help you over the phone. I can supply parts and repair defective amplifiers and computers, etc. Please email me tech@wurlitzer-ohio.com.

How do i move my wurlitzer 1015 cd one more time

Hi,

I take it you wish to transport your jukebox.
If this is the case I would remove all the CD's (keep them in the order that they were on the jukebox for installation again)
The jukebox mechanism will have some form of tie down system that locks down the mechanism tight into cabinet.
Check the power supply, amplifier etc to see if they pull off their mounts. If they do usually on these parts are holes to insert wood screws to lock them down (use the correct length of screw so they do not damage the cabinet) On the title racks or tubes tape them down so they do not come loose in the cabinet.

Try if at possible to transport the jukebox upright in or on the vehical, cover the jukebox with blankets before strapping to the vehical.

Wurlitzer model 556

Are you sure you mean 556? Sounds an odd model to me. The model number is on a black metal plate the size of a credit card on the back of the jukebox (usually).
Manuals can be found at www.victoryglass.com (USA) and The Jukebox Man in the UK.

Wurlitzer 1015 problem

Most likely the main fuse inside the wurlitzer itself - situated screwed into the lower right hand side of the amplifier panel.
