How does a hp pavilion a1514n desk top sound card look like and instaled

your model of PC doesn't have a sound card; the sound hardware is built onto the motherboard and cannot be removed. You can add a sound card n one of the additional PCI slots however, for example see
http://www.pixmania.co.uk/sound-card/asus-xonar-dg-5-1-sound-card-pci/08184127-a.html#description
Lots of pictures on this page
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=hp+sound+cards&_osacat=0&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xhp+sound+cards+pci&_nkw=hp+sound+cards+pci&_sacat=0&_from=R40

Ensure that any card is not too long or too high to fit in your particular PC
For instructions on fitting (physically) one of these cards see
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00311110.pdf
Look here
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=fitting+soundcard+to+desktop
for videos of the fitting procedure and even how to choose a card. Any of these will show the fitted sound card as well as how for a range of desktop PCs to do it.

How do i remove hp pavilion sound card

The sound hardware for your model of computer is built onto the motherboard and you cannot remove it. However, see http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00311110.pdf
for instructions for fitting and removing external cards (such as external sound cards if you have one)

HP Pavillion a1514n Won't Turn On

Yes even with the green light on it could still be the power supply. Have you pulled the power, opened the case, and pulled the BOIS battery? Could be the BOIS needs to be reset. You might also pull all the memory chips, turn it on and see if you get a beep code. I have had that happen in the past. Then I would replace the power supply (if you have an old one laying around use it to test, with just the MOBO plugged in). If the power supply fails, that leaves only the mother board as the issue.

Good luck, I hope one of these suggestions works for you.

Hp pavillion a1514n won't enter the BIOS

Hi,

I have no personal interest or association with any product that I may suggest.

Unfortunately, you did not provide the name of the bios so my suggestions are generic

There are some default passwords that you should try first:

  • AMI
  • Award
  • bios
  • setup
  • cmos
  • concat
  • AMI_SW (case sensitive)
  • AMI!SW/
  • AMI?SW/
  • j262

If these passwords didn't do the job, please try the following options:

Option #1:

You can physically remove the Bios/CMOS PROM chip from the motherboard and send it either to the motherboard manufacturer or a Bios developer for replacement of flashing. You can also send the entire motherboard to a facility experienced in these operations.

Option #2:

If the motherboard has a flash updateable Bios/CMOS PROM chip, then you can download a fresh Bios update and re-flash the PROM to eliminate the password.

Option #3:

There are programs (utilities) and (cracks) that can be used to try and either identify the password or remove it forcibly from the PROM chip. Utilities to recover passwords are extremely expensive and are usually only sold to manufacturers and others involved in hardware and software development.

Lastly, you can follow the steps outlined in the link to a tutorial video set forth below:

I have a HP a1514n media system with 2 - 512 sticks of ram. I replaced one of the 512's with a 1GB stick and my system only shows 1024 ram available. I checked the settings in startup and it shows...

First of all, make sure you have the right memory - 240 pin, DDR2 SDRAM, PC2-4200 MB/sec.

Your machine should support the memory as it has two banks of 1. Sometimes it is simply a sequence problem. In older machines with mixed memory, I always put the largest and fastest in the first slot. You might try just reversing the memory.

Where is the system battery on the hp pavillion 533c

Without the mother model/type it's impossible to tell you where the Bios Battery is located. But there's not much difficulty, generally only two types of alignments, as shown below, horizontally on the motherboard and vertically : a74f1de.jpg
Vertical,
bcce0aa.jpg
Horizontal.
