Question about Kodak EasyShare V1003 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Can't upload photos

When I plug my Kodak EasyShare V1003 into the cord into the computer, a window pops up and shows me a list of programs to use to upload my photos. I always did this without a problem, but one day i plugged it in and the window came up asking which program i wanted to use, but no programs were actually shown. The OK button is grayed until a program is selected (and since I can't select a program, I obviously can't click OK), and the only other button I can click at that point is Cancel. So I have been unable to to upload any photos since October, 2007. Does anyone know if this is a problem with my computer, or with my camera? Can anyone help either way?

My computer does not recognize my V1003 computer. When I "select device" I see DC200 or DC 210 cmeras only.

Just hit cancel then after that click on Start then My computer. Under removable storage you will see your camera there right click and click open. you can copy your pictures now and drag them into your hard drive.

You don't need any additional software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.
