Auto convergence yields with unable to complete due to unresponsive sensor

Your convegence has gone out. You can get complete kits with instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com or just the parts from www.ConvergenceChips.com . If you have never done this before i would suggest going the kit route since it includes step by step photo instructions and support.

First color alignment problems then no pix or sound, just chirpin

If the unit is chirping your convergence amps are out again,or you have a shorted Horzontal output transistor. Not likley for horz output to go out after convergence repair. If he did not replace the 6.8 ohm resistors along with the convergence amps the convergence amps would overheat and short out again. This would explain why the corner would not adjust out. Not a very good buisness practice on his part. Here today gone tomorrow?

Call the service rep who did the work. They replaced the failed parts, but did not find the original cause of the failure. You should tell them that! Replacing the parts without finding the original cause will only cause the present work done to fail again.

Low or no luminance

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, dark, etc. You may even see halos around images.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos. instructions, etc.

I would think there would be a warranty on your repair. Sounds like the first repair wasn't done correctly.

Tv has bad blue crt (pix tube) said the repairman

If you have a service manual or the experience to do this then I guess you can repair it. You do need a cross hatch generator to do an alighnment and sometimes an ocilliscope to adjust horizontal alighnments as per the service manual. Your paying for what the man took years to learn as repairing TV sets is not an overnight thing. As to the worth its up to you, do you wantt to invest this much money in a set that cost you a bundle?? How old is it? will answer your Question as they usually "made" to go for at least 5 to 7 years. After that its a crap shoot and if its older I wouldnt invest a dime in it. Unless you know how to repair it I would say buy a new one as the other tubes may go out a week from now or it could be 3 years from now as we TV techs are not fortune tellers. Good Luck
