SOURCE: Timing is off on my Pfaff 2140/2170 machine.

Basically on any sewing machine to time it you will need to separate the two gears that drive the hook. Usually loosen the set screws that attach the gear to the shaft and separate them.
Time the hook first. On center needle position, set the hook so that the point is behind the needle when the needle bar has risen about 2.5mm.
2) Set the needle bar height. Choose the needle position which is the last for the hook to pass.
(Left on most machines, right on older Vikings) At this point, place the point of the hook behind
the needle and set the needle bar height so that top of the eye is just barely below the tip of the
hook.
3) Check feed timing. Set the stitch length to the longest stitch. The needle should enter the
fabric just as the teeth drop below the surface of the plate.

SOURCE: My Viking 5710 starts to sew without any pressure on foot pedal

Mine does the exact same thing. I think the problem might lie in the cord to the foot pedal. The cord packs into the foot pedal for storage, which forces the cord to to remain bent during storage. I believe the wires in mind became damaged and broken so I took it apart and reconnected the wires at the spot where the connector meets with the wires. But I still don't leave it plugged in if I'm not using it, it could be a fire hazard.

My pfaff 2170 does not recognize my smallest (80mm x 80mm) hoop. It recognizes all my others. I tried powering my machine off, including just unplugging it while the error was displaying.

Do you have the hoop adapter connected to the embroidery unit when you use the 80x80 hoop? This is an accessory that was in the original accessory kit. The small 80 x 80 hoop will not be recognized without it. See page 5:40 (page 138 of the PDF) of the manual for information on the hoop adapter. If the hoop adapter is connected, you should see a prompt to identify the current hoop on the sewing machine screen. The manual is available from Pfaff here: http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/creative_2170-manual-EN.pdf?ext=.pdf .

If you do have the adapter in place, please add a comment about any messages on the screen.

I hope this helps.

Pfaff 2170 main motor blocked;Tried again, same message. It works fine for five or 10 minutes, then stops and message comes up. after overnight rest, same thing happens. tension, cleaning is fine.

Take it back where it was serviced and tell them they did not fix the problem. They should either repair it or give you your money back. If the motor is having issues, there could be something seriously wrong.

I have a 3D/ Pfaff 2170 Creative & I'm using Windows XP. No device found error. I can not transfer the embroidery design to 2170 Pfaff. Help!

Sounds like you don't have the device driver on you computer for the sewing machine. Question: Did it ever work? If it used to work but doesn't now, try using a different cable from the computer to the sewing machine. You can also try rebooting the computer (with the sewing machine connected and powered up) to see if it will locate the machine.

My pfaff 2170 says "main motor blocked" how can I fix this?

It happened to me... Check the bobbin and thread in the shaft ... Pull out the bobbin and remove all thread from the shaft. Pull out any thread remains with the tweezers. Check the feeder dogs and the needle (see Owner's Manual 2:7). Re-insert the bobbin (see Owner's Manual 2:12).Make sure that you use a good quality thread and set everything up correctly. Good luck!
