Gasket came loose and rapped around laundry-tub seems loose

Whirlpool duet washer model ghw9400pl1
Little metal ring fell out when I opened the door and I found that the rubber gasket had come loose and got wrapped up in the laundry. The tub seems to have a lot of play fron to rear like some springs or something that hods it in place have come loose and being held by one mount on top.

I have a whirpool duet washing machine. The front of the gasket has become a bit misshapen. Today the spring tightened metal ring was loose and I found 4 socks trapped inside the area typically blocked off by the rubber gasket. I re fit the metal ring but there still seems to be a bit of play. the gasket is tight at the top but very loose and ill-fiting at the bottom. I'm running it again to see if it will leak. help?

If your metal ring (clamp) came off it is most likely due to you shocks or the spring at the top are worn out and need to be replaced. this will happen more often if the cycles are off balance or the washer is over loaded

My duet washer is leaking beacuse the seal is not aligned right, the metal ring that holds the seal in keeps popping ou..any advice?

Carefully pull the nozzle from the window washer tube. Separate the plastic gasket ring from the nozzle. Insert the nozzle through the hole in the boot and slide the plastic gasket ring down the shaft of the nozzle so that the boot is securely trapped between the gasket ring and the nozzle ridge. Insert the nozzle shaft into the window washer inlet tube and insert the end of the water inlet tube into the boot. Fit the boot around the front lip of the tub so it rests smoothly and evenly. Fit the boot clamp around the front lip of the tub and tighten the screw. Be careful not to over tighten this screw. Damage to the boot clamp or the boot could occur.

My grey rubber gasket around the tub has a 1" rip in it. This is located where you open the front load door and on the grey rubber gasket just inside. Is there a patch kit? Or do I have to replace...

I search on google and no such patch kit. I tried a bike inner tube repair kit and it seems to work, but my holes are less than 1". Check out my post. I have a gasket on the way just in case.

Washer clunking

Look just inside the door. Between the door and the tub. Feel around behind the rubber boot that seals the tub to the door. See if you find a bic lighter, pocket knife or something like this.

Rotting Smell from Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer

Take the panel off of the front of your washer below the door and in the middle there is a round removable plastic door like piece. Take it out and clean out all of the junk in behind it. You might find loose change, nails and a variety of other thnigs that have become stuck in there besides mold. This will help with the smell and also the water that sometimes remains in your washer after the cycle is over. You need to do this once/twice year.

Front load washer smells!

Did you check for small wet items just inside the door? Push in on the soft gray rubber area right down in front and made certain you don't have something soured down in that area.

Washer Tub Gasket

remove gasket from cabinet - just held onto cabinet by a simple clamp and fold gasket inside drum. this will give you enough room to access the retainer. you may find it easier to remove the top as well

Water leaks out the bottom of door. metal ring with spring came off. put it back on and has leaked since

I have the same problem. I went to get laundry out of the machine and there is plastic piece with coded wires attached and metal tension that appears to go around the drum hanging loose. Probably have water but the machine is in the basement not too far from the drain. Mine is a duet 9100L about 4 years old
