Question about Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router
When i start my computer it says that its status is aquiring network address, but then it says that the local area connection status is limited or no connectivity and that it is not able to access the internet or some network resources. Is there a universal address that can be assigned? I do not have the manual, or is it because of the rural area i live in?
Is this a wireless connection?
If yes than most of the times the problem is that the signal is weak, try to put your Router/AP to a better place and see if you can connect, netstumbler can give you a hand in this, not sure if it's working under vista or not, but under xp it's perfect. My experience ist that what you need to have at least is 15 For SNR for your Router from the place where you are trying to connect. If it goes under 10 it will drop you down.
Better SNR means stronger signal and that's all that matters with a simple wireless connection.

Tips for a great answer:
In Windows XP, click the Start button and select Control Panel.
Click the Network and Internet Connections category.
Note: If your Ethernet adapter is not listed in the Connect using box, you need to install your adapter.
