Static on vtech 5.8 ghz corless phone

I have had my phone about a year. Worked great for 8 months. There are two headsets. The static is so bad I can hardly use the phone. We had not added any new appliances no anything new to have changed the reception. We are with mediacom DSL. If I take the phone to the patio window I get a better reception. This is an area of about 25 square feet in which the static is reduced. Do I need a new battery? Do I need a new phone?

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Constant static and interference

I have found that dimmer switches might be the cause your problem. If you have any around the house you may want to change them to a regular switch.
To test to see if this is the cause, turn all your dimmer switches completely off (not just turned down). See if it clears your static issue.

VTech products are generally poorly designed and manufactured. You can probably notice the FCC Warnings on the device that say that you must accept all interference that you may recieve while in use. Go out, splurge a little, and find a telephone made by a well known company like Panasonic, Sony, etc.

SOURCE: how to reset my password

Here is a link to all V-Tech owner manuals: http://www.vtechphones.com/vtechphones/index.cfm/support/manuals/
I would have found more specific instructions but you didnt provide Model # for me to locate. Sorry
Hope this helps. Good luck, RJ
It seems as if the factory password is #19. Try hitting #9 and seeing if it will give you the password.

How to make my 5.8 headset work with my new 6.0 headset

Sorry, you can't. Your new headset uses the DECT 6.0 protocol where your old 5.8GHz headset uses a different protocol. It would be like trying to play a videotape on a DVD player.

Phones stopped working. They only read

first step is to unplug all power and phone connections from the wall for all Vtech phones and bases.

Second, plug each set and base in the wall for power one at a time.

Go back to the basics and pair the handset with the base of the unit.

Do this for all sets one at a time.

Static h700

Good Afternoon.

Has the headset been dropped, or kept in a hot car? The battery could also be going out too, but unlikely if its only 3 months old. Is the headset near the phone? They do have a 10-20 ft range in a perfect condition. But it works best in my tests only a few feet away. As I roam away from the device, it causes static.

Also, is this everywhere you go, or just certain areas?
The reason I ask, if you are near a Wireless network, it could be conflicting. Bluetooth communicates on a 2.4 ghz band. Wireless Network runs on the following: 2.4, 3.6 and 5 GHz frequency

Try removing the device from you phone, and re-connecting it.

Constant static and interference

FIRST YOU MUST DETERMINE IF THERE IS STATIC ON YOUR PHONE LINE. EVEN WITH DSL THERE CAN BE STATIC EVEN IF THE INTERNET IS WORKING. IF YOU HAVE A CORDED PHONE TAKE IT OUT TO THE PHONE INTERFACE BOX AND OPEN THE BOX / THERE SHOULD BE A PLACE YOU CAN UNPLUG YOUR WIRING FROM THE PHONE COMPANY. PLUG YOUR PHONE INTO WHERE YOU UNPLUGGED THE WIRING AND SEE IF YOU HAVE STATIC THERE. IF YOU STILL HEAR STATIC IT IS THE PHONE COMPANY'S PROBLEM.

SOMETIMES UNPLUGGING FROM BOTH THE PHONE LINE AND THE POWER SOURCE AND REMOVING THE BATTERIES WILL CORRECT SOME PROBLEMS. FOR SECOND PHONES ON A SYSTEM THEY MUST BE REGISTERED TO THE BASE. ONCE IT IS REGISTERED IT SHOULD SHOW A NUMBER IN CORNER OF SCREEN (2)
THE MANUAL SHOULD TELL YOU HOW TO REGISTER SETS. IF YOU HAVE LOST YOUR MANUAL SEE IF YOU CAN DOWNLOAD ONE FROM THE WEB SITE OR CALL VTECH 1-800-595-9511
