OK! It is possible to recover lost files back from a disk as long as these files are not rewritten by anything new since then. So, be careful not to save any new file on this disk.
To access these lost files again, you need a disk data recovery freeware that could help people easily retrieve their lost or inaccessible data back from a hard drive or a memory card:
http://www.freeware-fix.blogspot.com/2013/04/data-recovery.html

Note: Always back up at least two copies of your important data on separate drives or locations.

Hi!
I will assume that you lost pictures from a memory card. If I'm correct, please follow the steps below.

There are a lot of recovery software that you can use to recover deleted files - specially pictures. You can try to use Zero Assumption Recovery. You can download the software at this site:

http://www.z-a-recovery.com/download.htm

It's a free software (you do not neet to pay to use this), and it's easy to use.

Here are the steps that you need to do:
1.) After you install this software, connect your camera or memory card to your PC . Open the Zero Assumption Recovery software.

2.) Click Next. Select "Recover images from the digital camera.." and click Next again.

3.) Select the Physical Device - select your camera or memory card , click Next. [grab a cup of coffee since retrieving the files may take some time depending on the size of the memory (",) ]

4.) After retrieving the files - select all the files that can be recovered. Click Next.

5.) Select the button on the right side (close to Destination) and select where you want to save the files. Click "Start recovering files".

That's it.

I hope that helps.

Good luck and have a nice day!

How to upload a video to the computer with my camera?

Hi Morgan,

The CTG file are the temporary files that a Canon Camera creates with every picture you click and is stored on the Card. These are not the actual picture files. Try to copy only the JPEG files and if possible format your Card since these CTG files are supposed to be deleted automatically when you erase/copy a picture from Card.

Suhail

I accidentley deleted all my pics from my memory card somehow can i restore them?

You can try to recover them with a recovery software. There are a few available on Hiren's Boot CD which are free http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download.html

Also, you can opt to get a paid one, like Digital Pictures Recovery Software http://www.picrecovery.com/

How to retrieve accidentally deleted pictures

Hello

My apologies if this message finds you long after posting this problem , but I am currently working through a backlog of problems that never got answered and hopefully this info can still be of use if not now possibly in future.

Please download Disc Digger HERE. This is a free tool you can use that works very well and there is no installation required, just run the program once you downloaded it.

Once you have connected the memory card to the computer via either the camera or preferably with a usb card reader , run the program.

On the program , select the dig deep option for accidentaly deleted files or dig deeper for a formatted card. Then select the card you want to do the recovery on and run the program.

The data will be displayed and you can recover it from there. This will only work if the card has not been used since the pictures were lost. Save the files to a location on the computer hard drive and not back to the memory card as this will overwrite the other pictures that still needs to be recovered.

Some of the properties of the files may become lost in the recovery but the pictures should be fine.

Feel free to ask if you need more assistance.

Kind Regards
Andrea

Sony cybershot DSC-W120 While deleting some pictures 1 at a time I somehow wiped out the whole disc. Is it possible to get those back? I did not take anymore photos after this happened...

Hello

Download THIS.

Download this free tool and run it on you card and it should be able to recover all pictures provided that you have not used the card since formatting. I recommend using a card reader for this.

After downloading and running (no installation required) , simply select deep scan and your memory card and it will start scanning, To recover a found file , right click it and select save.

Please note that the file names will probably not be available and also that some of the properties of the photo like date taken could be lost.

Please let me know when you have recovered your pictures safely or contact me if you need further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

Format of sd card on canon ixus 60 lost pictures

Try PC Inspector "Smart Recovery" from the following listing. Select "Intensive" mode from the File/Settings menu. The program may need to run all night in this mode. If this doesn't recover the photos, am afraid then that they're permanently gone.

My pictures were deleted from my memory card i want to undelete them

Do it as follows, I am sure you can undelete your photos easily.

First things first: DO NOT take any more pictures or videos to the camera that you want to recover files from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of photo recovery.

Then connect the device to your computer and have a try of Digital Photo Recovery, a program which can recover pictures, videos can music files deleted or lost easily. If you are running a machine with Mac OS X, go to Photo Recovery for Mac

You should remember - the more you use your the device, the less likely you may be able to recover the images back! So STOP using it as soon as possible. Best regards and good luck!

Recovering deleted photos

Dang, sorry I didn't see this post sooner. It's usually no problem at all to get them back. Please see this post for several free software that you can download. You'll need to use a card reader with these programs though: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/recovering-those-accidentally-lost.html
