Question about Saeco Magic Espresso Espresso Machine

No pressure build up to make good coffee

After cleaning my saeco magic combi when I make coffee it pours straight out from the large screw hole on the brewer group rather than building up pressure so I can turn the handle. Obviously the coffee is not up to standard. Please tell me it wasn't just old coffee holding the machine together!

Turns out it was just old coffee holding the group brewer together. Ended up replacing the whole handle which cost AU$44, so not too bad really. It's like new now.

When I go to make a coffee on my Saeco Magic Comfort, it comes out in droplets from one side, there isn't a steady flow.

Have you tried cleaning the inner brewing system. Google the manufacturers website & model#. Look for cleaning unit info. I use half white vinegar mixed with water to clean the calcium from the water & the oils left by the coffee

Saeco pressurized portafilter gets stuck in the locked position

No, no... He has a Saeco pressurized portafilter which has a valve that will not allow coffee through when the portafilter handle is pushed all the way to the right. His handle is locking in the rightmost position; this is not a grounds problem.

mjtourig: Can you not just nudge the handle to the left before you pull a shot to unlock it? If it is too clogged for that, try taking your portafilter apart to clean it. You'll have to remove the 3 screws on the bottom, and be very careful the entire time that you do not lose any of the parts (in particular, there is a spring under one of the screws that will want to pop out, and a tiny white plastic thing under that spring...). Good luck!

if you clean your brew unit and coffee lines infrequently you're coffee may taste differently when you do get around to cleaning them.

If you are not happy with the taste, I would receommend the following steps
1. A Good Descale (See our article here for on Descaling your Coffee Machine for details) - This will remove excess mineral build up.
2. Try a Saeco Cleaning Tablet in your brew unit - this will remove excess organic build up (Coffee and Grease)
3. Use only filtered water
4. Rinse your brew unit every time you empty your coffee dreg drawer

That should bring your machine back to optimal coffee making condition. If you are still not happy, try some different coffee blends for a while - a change can be as good as a holiday

Saeco magic comfort coffee machine grinder

Hi,

Make sure you not get any water in the grinder, if you got water in the grinder then you have to clean it.

You can try to set grinding to coarse and try to make 3 cup of coffee.

Via veneto won't make coffee

I removed the top filter where the water comes out and cleaned it good with a pin for all the holes, then I did the same for the coffee filter. I found alot of the holes plugged which would avoid the from alowing the coffee to come out.

Now it works like new.

Saeco magic de luxe cleaning grinder

I don't know what you mean by disarming the grinder. Unless you are talking about using the bypass. If that is the case there is a button on the panel that has waht looks like a scoop. Push that button and put a scoop in the bypass door and then push the button for what cup size you whant. Regarding the taste of the coffee. It may need a cleaning and service. Try googling "saeco repair" and find an authroized Saeco repair center and have a good service done on it.
