If you have made no changes to your network configuration, try unplugging the power from your router and modem for a minute. Then restore power to your modem, wait for the lights to come on and stay steady (all but PC and activity), then restore power to your router. Once the router finishes "start up" and establishes a connection to your modem, you should be able to connect to it and it should be able to assign an IP address to your computer. If you are unable to see your router in the list of available network connections, then you will need to a) refresh the list of available networks or b) write back for help on how to check the router's configuration. Either way, let me know how you make out.
You need to download the maintenance guide for your laptop from the following URL. It will provide step by step instructions on how to take apart the laptop to reach the fan. You will also need some Torx screwdrivers, which can be bought from a hardware store. You also need to keep track of which screws go where. I label a piece of paper with the screw location and then use transparent package tape to tape the screws to the paper. Be careful about the ribbon that connects the keyboard to the computer. Don't try to remove the connector, just loosen the connector so the ribbons can slide out.
