Why do you have to use H.E. detergent in front load washers?

not as much suds as regular detergent and double the strenth, front load washers use less water than top loaders,if you use to much detergent the machine will keep filling and draining to try to get the suds out.also you should only be using 1/4 cup of H.E. detergent or you can damage the spider gear in the washer, you'll know if it breaks you'll hear the tub banging all around loudly when it's in final spin, the spider gear is made out of soft metal and the extra detergent eats at the metal

Efo error

Not using High Efficiency (HE) detergent.
Too much detergent was added.
Using too much 2X or 3X HE detergent
Solutions for over-sudsing:
  • Always use HE detergent in an HE washer. It is formulated to be a low-sudsing detergent and made especially for HE washers.
  • Be sure to use the correct amount of detergent. HE washers require only a small amount of detergent. Note: This amount may need to be adjusted for water hardness, load size, and soil level.
  • If using a 2X or 3X concentrated HE detergent, much less detergent is needed. If suds are seen, reduce the amount used.
  • If using a water softener, less detergent.
  • Make sure both Hot to Cold water hoses are connected properly at the faucets and at the washer.

What is the partion insert for the washing powder container for?

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa.

That is the Liquid detergent partition...P/N 8061633. ( part number )

**This from ASKO...

Because ASKO washers use less water than conventional top-loading washers, you need less detergent and fabric softener. We recommend that you use a low-sudsing powder detergent only, preferably a high-efficiency (HE) detergent designed specifically for front-loading washers.

**(Liquid detergents tend to suds more, which make them more difficult to rinse out.)**

Detergent - The amount of detergent needed varies, depending on the detergent you use. For high-efficiency detergent specifically for front-loading washers, you should use the amounts recommended by the manufacturer.

Also, the amount of detergent needed can vary due to differences in water hardness. (Refer to the Use and Care Guide for more details.) If you choose to use a liquid detergent, start out with a very small amount, such as one or two tablespoons.

Hope that answers your question, let me know please. Thanks for choosing FixYa for your repair solutions today. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Please take a moment and rate the solution provided for you as well as a testimony if you feel it warranted.

Good luck.

Drum bangs while turning

if the tub is banging all around and very noisy in the spin cycle it's time for a new washer.the spider gear is broken, this happens from using to much detergent, the front load washers use very little water so you should only be using very little detergent and it should be H.E. detergent.the spider gear costs around 500 bucks and the detergent eats at it like acid, let me know how you make out

Keep getting a code 67 what does that mean

If I'm not mistaken, this is an oversudsing error. If you are using regular, not HE (high efficiency) detergent, this will happen in the new front load washers. The new front washers require HE detergents to work properly. Dump the regular soap, go to the store and buy a bottle of detergent marked with the blue "HE".

SUDS message

your machine, pump is "SUDS" locked, too much detergent in machine, you need to use HE detergent, designed specifically for frontloading washers. no t a small amount of regular detergent, but HE. you can remove the lower acces panel (3) screws across the bottom of front of unit. there you will gain acees to the pump pfilter area, unscrew the filter nad clean it out, chances are its full of allll sorts of debris.

Flooding

I never had this problem with my unit, but I've been using detergent that is specifically designated for front-load washers. You can find it at Target or any other store. It's supposed to reduce the amount of suds/foam build-up within the unit, so it might prevent thte flooding.

Hope this helps.
