Genie sd5050 light won't turn off

The Sansui SD5050 reel to Reel tap recorder is too old for remote controls, it doesn't have one.

refer to instructions that came with opener, or go on line and download it it or count number of blinks and use genie's trouble shooting page. The number of blinks is the trouble code. Now before you do all of this get down on floor and check for the light in each sensor, they both should be lit if not then correct this. Sensors fail, inspect the sensor wiring on back of opener. You can buy sensors at HD or Lowe's. good luck

I purchased an egg genie that appeared to be new, but wouldn't turn on. If you have the proper security bit, unscrew and remove the base. On mine, there was a wire that fell off of the connector post. After pushing it back on, the unit turned on with no problem. Hopefully your problem is as easily solved.

this happened to me, it needs charging make sure the lead has the blackberry symbol facing up....

1) test the batteries 2) rETIGHT THE spring contact batteries 3) Resolder wires for contact batteries, see if there are some wires missing. 4) Try again with the codes.
go www. fitness.manualsonline.com get the code , and reset again.
Otherwise the remote control you must go to the repair shop.

The button closest to the Genie logo is the one that works, I just programmed it by pressing & holding the black button underneath the light cover until the red light above the button goes solid then blinks then stops blinking. Next I pressed the same button once and the red light blinks then pressed the button on the remote once then once more and it was all set.

First unwire the wall button. If the light will go off now replace the wall button. If not then you will need to replace the logic board on this unit(genie.com for replacement). Protect this with a surge protector as well 900 joules or higher. Thanks BB
