Question about Logitech S 510 (967555) (DH967555) Keyboard and Mouse

1 Answer

Sister moved her PC and now the keyboard's keys are locked.

Trying to help my sister out. Keyboard is a Logitech media, 967...something. She cannot find the user manual and I cannot find it online. The keyboard is a SCSI port, not USB. Help!

Must be a PS2 or a IBM connector as SCSI is a hard drive and connector type. Most computer stores sell adapters for these, but considering the price of keyboards she should just upgrade to USB.You can get one for less 10 bucks these days.

You may have accidentally activated Sticky Keys.
Go to Control Panel... Ease of Access... Change how your keyboard works.
See if changing the Sticky Keys option helps.

OK well usually in the "Setup" you can "Assign" whatever keys you need, so can't you change the keys used to what you have? ALL Keyboards have scroll lock, it is probably just "Hidden" for instance I found one accessed via pressing a Blue Fn Key and then F12. Look carefully for "Other: small writing on keys.

Sister has forgotten password

Hi,

If she cannot remember the password you can reset it. This will require a seperate computer with a CD burner and a blank CD to make a bootable disk, then simply follow the instructions on the page linked below.

Before resetting the password check the lights for your keyboard though. You may have your number lock turned on which will turn 789UIOKJLM into 7894561230 creating a number pad on your keyboard. If this is the case find the key marked "num lk" if it is the same colour as the letters pressing it should disable the number pad, if it is surrounded by a line or a different colour you will need to hold down the Fn key then press num lk to enable/disable the numberpad, you should see a light with a picture of a lock come on and off to denote number pad on or off. Ensure it is off then retry logging on with her password. If it still doesn't work, then procede to the link below and follow the instructions carefully.

Hope this helps FixYa,

  6. Click on slk (in the top row of the on-screen keyboard). This will toggle the state of the scroll lock key. Notice that the scroll lock key is no longer outlined in red. Scroll lock is now off.

NOTE: If you have installed SetPoint (Logitech’s Mouse and Keyboard software) the confirmation message Scroll Lock Off will also be displayed for about 2 seconds on your monitor.
