Question about D-Link DGL-3420 Wireless Adapter

1 Answer

Limited or no connectivity

I bought this wireless adapter to go with my new d-link router because I thought they would work well together. However I did buy the adapter from an auction site online. I had to buy my own power adapter for it. Once I plugged it in the LED lights came on and it looks like it is all set. However when I connect it to the computer it says there is limited or no connectivity. I changed the IP address of the computer to 192.168.0.xxx and it still will not connect. I'm at the end of my rope with this thing. I can't even connect to the adapter itself through the 192.168.0.30 IP address. Anyone have any ideas?

You probably need tp port forward the adapter to the router. Port foward.com can walk you through this with your model of router.Remember your computer plugs to the router not the adapter

Limited connectivity

Limited connectivity (this phrase occurs first inside the WIN 8 OS) means, that you have connection with your router already, but NOT to the internet. Pls. check, if you have access to internet from other computers or smartphone connected via the same router.
If so, sometimes a driver-update for your D-Link could be useful.
Check also, if other wireless adapters are working with the same frequency, this may disturb. Try to change the channel or change from 2,4 GHz to the 5 GHz Channels, if the router & your D-Link Adapter will support this.
I had the same problem with my WIN 8 - PC and I had to change the (wireless) radio-channel.

GENERAL ROUTERS RESETING 1-With the unit on, place a paper clip into the hole on the back of the unit labeled Reset.
2-Hold paper clip down for 10 seconds and release.
3-The unit will reboot on its own. Once the WLAN light stops blinking, the unit is reset.
Resetting the router does not reset the firmware to an earlier version. It will change all settings back to factory defaults

This can occur when the wireless adapter in the computer has trouble connecting to the wireless router. It may not get an IP address from the router or the wireless adapter encryption setting didn't get an the encryption authentication from the router.
In this case right click on the wireless adapter on the Task bar and click Repair. This will make the router re-issue an IP address and authenticate the adapter's encryption setting.

After connecting router wbr-1310, DSL connection states "limited to no connectivity." What could be causing that problem and how can it be corrected to operate the router?

limited to no connectivity with a wireless system means that it is not picking up the signals from the internet device you have, check if everything is plugged in properly and that your internet connection (modem) has enough strength to be able to be wireless.

Netgear WG111 doesn't see D-Link DIR-655 wireless network

Hi Joe,

I would suggest you to change the wireless channel on the Dlink and use the channel on which WG111 will scan and connect to your network. Also, plese make sure to use the security encryption on the DLINK to WEP or WPA only. Using higher security like WPA2 will cause issues with this adapter.

Anand

Installing a 32 bit air link wireless cardbus adapter AWL C3025

First have you tested a wired computer to assure all but the wireless section is configured correctly?

Second have you tested a wireless unencrypted connection to assure it works?

When choosing an encryption strategy did you assure the router and adapter supported the same choice. Generally there is WEP and WPA -- most people prefer WPA now however both the adapter and the router must support it to make it a viable choice.

To provide further assistance please check the model number of the router and provide either the manufacturer and model for the wireless adapter or the computer with a built-in wireless adapter you are attempting to connect.
