The default username and password for Linksys routers are:
Username: <no username>
If all of this fail you'll need to reset your linksys router so that it will also reset the password to the default. To reset you linksys router you can check it out on this website: http://technicallyeasy.net/2008/01/how-to-reset-linksys-wrt54g-wireless/
Note: Reseting your router means it's going to reload the factory default settings and all of the settings that you made on your router will be deleted permanently.
Default backdoor passwords On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."

I think you meant the access key password for your wireless security and not the password for the router itself (2 separate passwords).
I'll give you both solutions starting with the wireless key password.
1. access the router configuration page by typing http://192.168.1.1 in your browsr.
2. This should pop up a log in window asking for user name & password
3. The default settings for a linksys router say to leave the username blank and type admin for the password.
4. once you're in look for the Wireless tab and click it then click on wireless security
5. your password will be listed there in the shared key box.
Now if its your router access password that you need you'll need to reset the router if you can't remember it and then follow the steps above to create a wireless security password. Here's how you reset the router. Remember that all custom settings you may have set will be erased and the router will go back to original factory configuration settings
1. On the back of the router you'll find a small hole or indentation and it may or may not have the word reset printed by it.
2. Find a paper clip or something of the same size and use it to press the reset button for about 2-3 seconds
3. Router will be reset
Are you typing that IP address into your web browser? 192.168.1.1 is the default address that the WRT54G uses, so if that's not the right address, then it got changed somewhere along the lines. You can reset your router to set it back to its default settings, which would be 192.168.1.1.
Once you pull up the configuration software in your browser, you may need to log in with the username and password you chose -- otherwise the default username and password are "admin" and "admin".
You can try to access the router using the ipaddress:
1. go to the command prompt.
2. type in ipconfig.
3. look for the default gateway.
4. open your browser and type in the default gateway.
5. username is "username" password is "password"
Do you have a Linksys router and you have forgotten your password or you want to reset the password to the default. Firstly you must have physical access to the router. This article is basically for WRT54g and model BEFW11S4 If you have changed the password from the default password and have forgotten the default or your router did not come with any documentation. To regain access to the router try the following. In the username field leaveit blank and in the password field type admin
Username / leave blank password / admin The Rest Button on a Linksys Router
To reset the router While the back of your router might look different, the reset button is usually clearly marked. To reset the router to the default password, insert something thin--like a pencil point--and depress the red button. Hold that for a few seconds. The password for your Linksys router should have reverted to its default. Try accessing it from a machine that is plugged directly into it. The default address is usually http://192.168.1.1. When you gain access to the router then you can change the password to any word of your choice.
Reset your Linksys router back to default: The easiest method of resetting your Linksys router’s password is to reset your router back to the default factory settings. This is done by simply holding down the reset button located on the back of the unit for at least 30 seconds. Once the router has been reset, it must be reconfigured. Using your web browser go to URL address http://192.168.1.1. You will then be prompted to login to your router. A log-in screen asking for the password will automatically appear. At this time enter the default password “admin”, in lower case letters into the password field. The username field may be left blank at this time. (Note: both the default username and default password are set to “admin” on some of the newer Linksys router models).
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
