What is causing my Kenmore top washer to make a grinding noise before the rinse cycle?

Have you replaced the clutch or spin tube? There is a brake actuator that comes with the clutch kit and if this is broken it can make a very loud grinding or clacking sound.

Grinding noise before spin cycle

Good Morning John,

I see that you are hearing a grinding noise before the spin cycle in your Frigidaire washer, model# GLET1031CS0. A certain amount of "grinding" or gear sounds are normal in a heavy-duty washer. If you notice that the grinding sound appears to be getting louder, I suggest contacting either the manufacturer or your local authorized technician for further assistance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

The hard drive of my ipod is very noise.. . they say its the gard drive is the problem.. .

HI. In some cases, hard drive (spinning noise), is quite normal, however, if there is a clicking noise or grinding noise present; This will indicate that the device is in need of special service. Most 4th gen i pods will make a slight spinning noise. This is quite normal. If it is more severe, as mentioned above, i would suggest to return it to the nearest repair depot for repair or exchangement. It may be defective or worn out from excessive usage or an age factor.

Not loading game

the reason it makes the "grinding" noise is because the motor that moves the lens to read the disk is dieing, this generally happens when you have played your ps2 for a long time, this only happens to older consoles.

CD PLayer won't play CD's

Hi First of all, you must find all the screws for the top cover and remove it. Make sure the unit is not plugged in! Then, making sure that you are not touching anything inside the unit, plug it back in,put a Cd in the drawer, and watch what happens. If the drawer closes, but you can still hear a motor running, then it is a belt drive unit, and the belt is slipping, if that part is ok, listen carefully for a ticking noise, which is the laser lense going up and down trying to focus on the CD, if the disk starts to spin then the mech has closed properly, and the unit is trying to find the directory. If the unit then spins the disk for a while then ejects it, then the laser is dirty or faulty. I would suggest getting it cleaned at a shop if the lense appears dirty. ***Never look straight down at the laser lense if it is exposed on your model of CD player, it is a class 3 laser, and you will be doing some harmful home laser surgery to yourself!!!*** Hope this helps! Good Luck! P.S. When following the steps above, if you hear the ticking of the lense moving up and down, but the disk does not spin, gently spin it clockwise with your finger, if it starts to play, or finds the directory, then the spin motor is bad.
