Most likely wires have broken in door; this is super expensive to fix as wires actually melt into the liner of the door. LG knows about this issue. May want to buy a new d/w or call LG and see if they will do anything for you.

Can you please tell us the exact model of your dishwasher? What you can try initially is unplug the power cable of your unit for about 10 minutes, then plug it back in. See if that clears the error. Will give you follow up about the E1 error.

Our Lg dishwasher ( model No:LD'1403W1) stops after 5 to 10 minutes into the cycle, and presents with a E1 error. Have checked the drain is clear, the inflow pipe is working. Not sure what is wrong with...

E1 means: Water Level in Drum lowering, this would usually mean there is a leak on one of the pipes. But from previous experiences it is more than likely (90%) that it is the Circulation pump. It will have to be replaced, as it is a common spare that has to be replaced on L.G Dishwashers (lifetime 12 - 18 Months usually) - Not overly expensive. Usually is about 20%-25% the price of a new Dishwasher. The Circulation pump is fitted to the sump.

See below a image of what a Circulation Pump looks like:

I had the same problem, new wash pump didn't solve the e1 error. New capacitor did the trick. Hope this helps

My LG dishwasher - model LD-12AW2 has 'E1' alert & won't work

This sounds like a anti flood activation due to water leak / spill detection. This device (polystireen float and micro switch) at the base of the washer detects any water leak and stops the washing cycle once water leak activates the switch via the float. Check if any water at the base of washer is cuasing the float to activate the switch. Rectify any leak / spill (normally a pipe / clamp) and this should solve the problem.

LG 3 in 1 Dishwasher model LD2131SH showing E1, leaks water

e1 is a leakage error. you will have to find where it is leaking from...crack hose .crack motor assy.. water must be leaking
The excessive RPM of Washing Motor happened during Wash cycle due to water leakage.
Water leakage in Hose connections. Water is leaked by damages. The Motor Water Seal leakage of Sump assembly. The height of Drain Hose connection (sink-Drain Hose) is not over 20 . Impeller of the Washing Pump is worn away.

LG Dishwasher making grinding noise then blinking E1 code 10 minutes later

Well done by resolving this problem. The other way to avoid the siphoning problem through the drain hose is adding an air gap valve/connector (available at any hardware store). You can use it even if you don't have a garbage disposal in your kitchen sink. That will assure that you have the proper height of the drain hose.
Hope this helps!

Dishwasher stops after rinse

Seems to be an error with the float switch on the anti flood device http://www.smeg-service.co.uk/support/index.php?a=1&cat=4

Error code E1 on LG dishwasher

I have this sometimes where E1 is reported and the pump remains on. The following voodoo has worked for me.

1) Make sure there is not a real drain problem.
2) Cancel any cycle or turn the power button off then on.
3) Run a rinse cycle (15 minutes).
4) If pump continues to run, turn off the power to the dishwasher, let stand for a minute, then repeat steps 2-3. If still not working, leave power off over night and leave the door open then try again.

In each iteration, it is important to curse your LG product and/or threaten it with replacement.
