I assume you have the long stainless handle. If so there is a tiny set screw on the stand off. It is on the floor side and just needs to be tightened.

Loose door handle

if this is a style with an aluminum handle that runs top to bottom of the fridge door, then you have to remove the metal strip in the center of the door handle. It is held by magnets. the best way to remove it without damaging it is to put a piece of electrical tape in the very center of the metal strip, and pull on it gently. it should lift it away from the handle then you can get your finger behind it to pull it the rest of the way off. DONT BEND IT or you will be buying a new one. Once they are even slightly tweaked, they will never stay on. Under this strip are the screws holding the handle on. Tighten them then tuck the strip you removed into the bottom then the top trim and just let it snap back into place.

How do I change the door panels on a model 642/F

Hi,
If you have an overlay door, by removing the door handles, should be about 6-8 screws located when you open the door look at the handle, you should see these screws run top to bottom.

I hope this helps.

Sub-Zero 601R door handle is loose

My Sub is a 650S. Not sure your handle assy. is the same or not. But each of the 2 attachment points have a small 3/32" set screw on the bottom of each short piece between the vertical handle and the door. These set screws grab onto posts that are screwed into the door. There can be 3 points where the handle can work loose.
1. The set screw(s) have backed out and not holding tightly onto the door studs. 2. The studs in the door are loose and need to be tightened with a screw driver. 3. After loosening the handle via the set screws, when you look back into the cavity vacated by the studs from the door, (pivot handle clockwise past edge of door) you will see a Philips-head screw that secures the spacer to the handle. If the spacer is loose, tighten it with screw driver. Then mount back into door stud and tighten set screw. Problem Solved. Have a beer!!!

How do you tighten a loose handle of the fridge door? Sub zero 642

I have the Sub Zero 650. I am not sure if yours iworks same but what you do is use a 3/32 Allen wrench; as you push the handle into the screw on the door so that it is flush, you insert the Allen wrench in the hole at the bottom of the short vertical connector at top and tighten; repeat for upper or lower part of handle.

Cannot reopen Sub-Zero 642 freezer door for 50 seconds

Yes, this is normal.  My 642 does the same thing. It seals to be more efficient while trying to cool back down after it has lost heat while open.

I nee to tighten up the freezer door handle on a sub zero 650?

There are different handles depending on serial number. The older of the two is at the top of the door. The screws are covered with a magnetic trim piece. You can remove this by putting tape on the chrome and pull up. You can then tighten the nuber two phillips head screws. The newer model is on the door itself. These are held on with small set screws accessed from the bottom of the handle. You may get by just tightening the set screws. If not you need to remove the handle by removing the set screws. You can then tighten the standoff and reatach the handle. For the 632 same procedure except it will be on the side.

There is a tiny set screw that holds that in place. It is on the bottom of the stand off and just needs to be tightened.

New 642 freezer door is very hard to open due to seal sticking

If the seal or seating area is sticky, wash it with warm water. If it isn't, this is just the sign of a good refrigerator. As the air cools, it becomes more dense and creates a vacuum inside the compartment. With a pliable new door seal which is sealing well, combined with a large door, this can cause a great seal with alot of pressure pulling on it. Smile, this is why your consumers bill will be much better with that new sub-z.
