Question about Samsung HLN437W 43" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

No sound, just clicking noise

Today the sound went out. Now we just hear a steady clicking. Changing Volume settings doesn't change the noise level of the clicking. I tried rebooting the cable, no help. Audio settings appear unchanged. Thoughts?

Why cant i hear sound on my biultin web cam

the web cam is a separate device, us the mic... try changing the volume level of the mic at the Volume Control, just right-click the speaker icon at the bottom right and open the volume control.

sounds like the sound card board has a short. depending on the notebook, this may or not be replaceable. take it in and see if the board can be replaced

I have a 2002 Saab 9-3. A couple of days ago I started hearing a clicking sound coming from the engine area (don't know if its actually the engine, just in that area). At first, only made sound when...

If the 'clicking' sound changes with engine speed you need to check your oil, and pay attention to your temperature guage-it might be a lifter making noise and an oil change would possibly help. If it is a steady clicking noise, it might be a loud fuel injector, possible but not likely.

All of the sound levels, ring tones, media, notifications are very low. Can barely hear.

If changing the speaker volume via settings doesn't fix it, try removing the battery for a minute, then reinsert it...fixed it for me...be wary of TasKiller-Free. AdvancedTasKiller-Free works better and has less reported issues...seems to be related.

Sansui 21in LCD VOLUME is lowering

If you are using a set-top box for Digital reception....check the output volume setting by going to the menu then audio set up section. On standard TV transmisssions the sound is often fine but on Digital....the box sets the feeder audio signal level.

Cannot hear my voice in the skype test skype is set up on the ubuntu operating system

Firstly, what version of Ubuntu and Skype are you using? Also what machine.

There are three areas where the issue could be - within Skype's settings, withing Ubuntu's settings or with the microphone/soundcard.

I'll cover some quick attempts at solving, assuming it's the first two.

OK, first make sure Ubuntu's settings are correct. If you can access the sound settings (generally there is a Speaker icon in the top right). Right click, 'open volume control'. Often you need the 'boost' level as well as the usual microphone - if you have 'Front Mic', sometimes you need 'Front Mic Boost too', likewise if you have 'Microphone', you might need 'Microphone Boost'. In the Volume Control, click preference to add the 'boost' level.

If that didn't work it might be your Skype settings. In Skype options, 'sound devices' try changing the 'sound in'.

If those didn't work it might be hardware (or another trickier software issue) - try testing your microphone on something else.

My psp sound quit working. it went low and now no sound at all.

I take it the volume control doesn’t change it? If the level went down rather fast the Volume decrease button (-) might have gotten stuck down.

Have you tried different set of ear buds (headphones)?

Screeching noise

right click on the speaker icon in your taskbar, select Open Volume Control. If you do not see the Microphone control select options>properties and select it from the list of check boxes. Press OK. Check the mute box for your microphone.
